he just smiled at her and kissed her softly again before settling back in to hold her tight.

“I am more than okay with this.”

he pulled away and grinned at her, “god you’re perfect.”

“I’m all yours.” She smiled. “So now what are you going to do?”

“a lot of this” he said as he leaned in and kissed her.

“You’ve always been my dork.”

he laughed, “you’re totally right.” he rubbed his thumb slowly on her shoulder. “i’ve always been yours. i was just waiting for you to be mine.”

“You’re still a dork.”

“well now i’m your dork.”

“You’re mine now, okay?”

“yes ma’am.”

“Yes, I don’t want to get married for a long time.”

“glad we’re on the same page.” he said with a small laugh.

“You sound like an old man.”

“i’m just being real.” he said with a small shrug, “don’t you want to be just dating for a while?”

“What if I said right now?”

“well since i’m sober now i would say that’s probably not super practical. sure we’ve been friends forever but it’s going to be completely different now and we have to have time to be in a relationship before we go straight to marriage.”

“How long?”

he shrugged, “i have no idea it’s impossible to predict that. whenever we want to, i guess.”

“I told you i’m not getting married unless its a big wedding.”

“exactly, so we have to wait.”

“Oh stop being a baby! You wanted me to go marry you yesterday!” 

“yeah, well i was drunk and i know my mom would murder me if we eloped and didn’t have a big wedding with a huge reception.”

“You wouldn’t have scared me away.” She told him. “If we get married, I’ll put it in my vows.”

“well i’m glad i didn’t.” he groaned, “you’re gonna make me wait that long? i don’t know if i’ll make it.”

“Hey! You should’ve told me how you felt a long time ago!” She chuckled. “I do, but that’s something i’m going to save to tell you.”

“i didn’t want to ruin anything, the thought of scaring you away was too big of a risk.” he said, “what! why not right now? come on, it’ll be romantic.”

“You’re so cheesy.” She smiled up at him. “It took me awhile to realize I was in love with you.”

“way too long if you ask me.” he said, his thumb tracing circles where it rested lightly on her arm. “do you remember when you realized?”

“Like for an hour?” Aspyn asked jokingly. “No, how long?”

he rolled his eyes, “ha ha very funny.” he rested his cheek against her head, “since the day i first met you in high school. i knew we had something that was special.”

Aspyn leaned into him after he moved closer. “Wow what a gentleman.”

he laughed quietly, holding her close and sighing happily. “do you know how long i’ve wanted this?”
