Snarky Puppy: Lingus
Exploding Head Syndrome, or EHS, is a real, but rare parasomnia phenomenon in which the sufferer experiences the sound of a bomb going off, gunshot, cymbal clashes, or other loud noises within their head usually due to extreme fatigue. The event typically occurs as one is falling asleep or shortly after falling asleep. The sufferer may feel scared or anxious before/after an event, as well as an elevated heart rate, shortness of breath, flashes of light, or even mild sleep paralysis in the midst of one.
Going crazy
I've been trying for a while to induce an out of body experience. I don't believe it's some kind of magical transcendental process, I just think it's a mind trip. I've also been getting into lucid dreaming. I was very anxious the other night and whilst laying on my bed I started hearing noises just like the ones you'd imagine when you play out a conversation in your head etc. only these noises kept getting louder and louder until they were screaming, then I snapped out of it. It was disturbing and I'm pretty sure it was an EHS experience. Later that night I woke up out of a dream and I was laying in bed with this incredible ringing noise that felt like it was physically rocking my head left and right. I'm not sure if it was a dream or if I was in some kind of trance but I don't remember if I was looking down at my self or if I was imagining it. I think I felt like I had two visual perspectives. I was so much more aware than when I am dreaming but it certainly wasn't a clear state of mind. I can't stop thinking about it.
Last Evenings on Earth
Behold the emerald ocean
as I lose my mind
and drown in the overcast twilight.
Clouds of smoke move slowly towards
the broken lightbulb moon,
its reflection glistens in the shallows.
At this moment, waves of nausea as
I forget how to breathe
The thought of
somebody sad, skeletal
leaving you.
