Heyy grimmi I don’t know if you remember me but I asked a couple days if I could send my oc in so here :>

Here’s a little summary of his backstory, quirk and relationship with the todorokis(his name is Nalo)

Anyways basically he was responsible for his family’s deaths when is parents split his mom started drinking, and because he looks a lot like his father his mother started to hate and in a sick way love him in a way no parent should.

His dad on the other hand wanted to erase is very existence, he didn’t want a conscious reminder of a failed marriage so he often neglected him and it didn’t get better when Nalo’s father remarried.

When Nalo developed is quirk he had killed is mom after she tried to harm and assault him, and when he tried going to his father for help him(Nalos father) and his new family moved far far away.

Now on to his quirk Nalos quirk is call paranormal

he can basically control the dead, Spirits, souls(living or passed) and sometimes demons while also being able to consume them to take energy and power(he killed is mother was ripping her soul out and destroying it)

I like to think that Nalo envy’s the todorokis(MFW) for having a perfect family and often stalking them and because he’s lonely

you can decide what relationship he can have in Hellflame

he has Amo empool, A bit of Toga, and mommy long legs from ppt personality

You didn’t mention his age, and I’m assuming he’s a villain, but in MFW, he’s definitely be one of Touya’s “ACCEPT MY FRIENDSHIP, PLEASE” targets, haha

I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge fan of his Quirk, because it doesn’t really fit into the MHAverse. The closest we get to “spirits” are Quirk vestiges and people’s dreams/visions, so I think it’d be more interesting to stray away from the traditional paranormal, and have it be more of a “Vestige Control” - he can see/interact with vestiges (talk to the OFA users, for example) and control them, so if a body has the ‘quirk factor’, he can move a dead body, but he could also mess with how living people’s Quirks work. He can’t fully control them, but if a person is weak-minded enough, he could eventually have his own little puppets. All For One would LOVE that Quirk and it’d have a lot of use for him. It just opens up more nuances for the MHA world building. You could have that Nalo doesn’t fully understand his Quirk, so he thinks it’s paranormal/spirits and it’s not helped by an imbalanced mental state, but in MFW, Touya figures it out for him and reassures Nalo that his Quirk is completely rational, and super cool, not something beyond understanding. I just think you can do more with the Quirk.

I think in MFW, Nalo realising that the Todoroki aren’t perfect, but that they still love each other despite everything, would be a really lovely character development for him, that every family has its flaws and issues, but how they work together is what makes “perfect”.

In the Hellflame AU, I’m very sorry to say, Hellflame would have already killed Nalo to cultivate his Quirk, Paranormal or other 😅

I love how in MFW and Domestic Harufo au even though they're happy(-ish) aus you don't completely erase everything and paint it like nothing is wrong.

Like they still have some things cause of the fact that well... families aren't perfect. I've just seen a lot of happy aus(not just mha) that erase the idea of having any trauma at all and make it a happy fairytale.

If any of that makes sense.

I originally when on a rant, but I’ll just say, yes, I 100% understand, I despise those sorts of AUs, they are boring, make the characters bland af and you can tell the author has a bias/doesn’t care for the ripple effect of certain changes, WHICH IS FINE, but imo makes the AU feel shallow, uninteresting and honestly, it comes across as therapy we have to be witness to rather than actual story on its own (which again, IS FINE, I still don’t have to like it).

There will ALWAYS be problems, even in a slice of life story, that’s what keeps it interesting.

And that’s why I mind my own beeswax and don’t interact with anyone unless they bring it up first in my personal space.

What are your tips and trips on writing characters in a story, even with out having to do ultra character study on a single person.

And a finesse a natural Out Of Character.

Especially since i'm planning on having Izuku in my fic, to be the younger, half brother of Musclur. (Izuku has a defensive, rather than office version of ).

And Himiko Toga as a class 1-A student (who is Vlad's daughter. and is going to lose their arms.)

Well, the most basic thing to do is read the story lmao, take yourself out of the story, don’t project onto them, just look objectively how they are depicted in the story. And just keep in mind that the English translation isn’t 100% accurate because of translator bias/general mistranslation. Still recommend researching though, that’s the fun bit.

To me, OOC is when you take out core traits of the character, put a character in situation and they don’t react “like them”, or you can’t explain how they got to hate point of not reaction like their canon version. I have an explanation for every single one of my AU characterisations. If you understand a character well enough, you can then have a lot of fun with the “what ifs”.

Izuku being Muscular’s half-brother: him being Muscular’s half-brother wouldn’t have any impact on the story at all if neither of them know about it. So unless if it’s something they figure out after the war, you’ll need to give me more of how that works. I’m assuming they’d be half-brother via their father.

If they’ve known from the beginning, that’s different, so if that’s the case then: I actually don’t understand what you mean by “has a defensive, rather than office version of”, I’m assuming you mean Quirk? So Izuku has defensive version of Muscular’s Quirk? Yeah, no, not a fan of that. The appeal of Izuku is that he’s Quirkless/an underdog, you’re better off making an OC. Kirishima would be a better choice for a half-brother if we’re going with Quirks. BUT what would be VERY interesting is Izuku have a “good older brother” (not really but Izuku sees it that way lmao) in Muscular before he turned to villainy, and he helped Izuku learn how to defend himself because he saw Bakugo was bullying him and “no brother of mine is gonna be a wimp, Quirkless or not”, haha. Izuku really looks up to him, but Muscular disappears from his life one day, and he doesn’t see him again until the forest fight. He knows of the things he’s done, but is in denial about it because that’s his big brother who taught him how to defend himself. You could also do a really interesting analysis of how Muscular’s Quirk influenced his need to fight/kill and how giving into those instincts made him worse and worse.

Toga being in Class 1A: Toga is a year older than Izuku and co, so she’d actually be in Class 2A with Mawata Fuwa. Making her Vlad’s daughter is fine, I guess, but it’d be actually more interesting, imo, if she was his niece and he noticed the abuse she was going through and helped her out. And she wants to be a hero to save other children in her situation like her uncle saved her. That’d be really cute. Vlad might not be her biological father, but he’s her dad 🥹

[Domestic HaruFO AU] Haruo has been able to intervene and mess up many of AFO’s plans via…certain means. For one, he saved Oboro when he saw that AFO was targeting Aizawa’s Quirk, so had Endeavor keep an eye on him (and by proxy Oboro). When the accident was bound to happen, Endeavor was there to keep everybody safe. Then ofc the Shimura are fine. Toga is also fine, by proxy Spinner and Mr Compress are too. Some of the other villains are alive but got incarcerated in the long run. The only thing Haruo couldn’t prevent was Overhaul. AFO and the Doctor hid it too well.

MFW question. Given how at the least, MFW Enji takes four days a month off for his kids and his general helicopter parenting and clearly being very publically there for them. How is Enji percieved in-universe when it comes to as a dad? Do other dads see him as a role model or meassure themselves against him in their heads? Is he talked about on Dad Forums, where dads trade stories and advice. If he is, he probably freaked the place out when he appeared there once himself.

Enji is more of a private dad. His kids, outside of Touya, aren't really shared by the media until their later teens. So most people know Endeavor is a dad, and that his eldest has been on patrol with him even as a toddler, but not much more than that until Natsuo gets into UA. Again, private.

And specifically she's a grey squirrel because grey squirrels are native to North America, and she's American. Suzette is a red squirrel because she was born in France+is half French and they're native to Europe.

Omg I just realized after rereading the newest hellflame chapter it's probably the first time Shoto has ever seen his mom and siblings IN YEARS. And because he can't remember them he doesn't even know that's family I'm sick.

Cerberus takes the role of the Hooded Nomu in this AU, first appears in Ch 22!

-Has all of the Hooded Nomu’s abilities: Muscle Augmentation, Super Regeneration, Shoulder-Mounted Jets, Transforming Arms (which makes it able to spring wings), Power and Storage (used to keep the heads together). -It also has a super powered version of Frost, x3 more powerful than the original. -The Main Head can generate a mouth that splits down its middle. No tongue, has rows of teeth that will shred you. -The Screaming Head, uh, screams a lot. Lethal due to Power, borderlines on supersonic. Very scrawny, but fast, on par with Hawks, great for distractions and evading. -The Beast Head, muscular and strong, built for hunting, the most aggressive of the three heads. Strategy is “Push back into corner and tear apart”. -It learns continuously, and is very versatile with its Quirk usage - seems it was trained off of Hellflame’s own training. -Main handler is Dabi.

Todokids decide to play Kokkuri-San for some god awful reason, but they end up accidentally summoning Waku instead, and then Harusame starts levitating and flying for some mysterious reason

And the kids all start crying because what else did they think was gonna happen?

They’re lucky it was only Waku, because if it was Ryoko, she’d have possessed Shoto, if it was Kyoka, everybody would be catatonic, if it was Renji, nobody would be able to look in a mirror ever again, if it was Shiyo, everybody would have chronic depression, and if it was Eigo, Natsuo would be watching his siblings tear out their blue eyes (this is a Himura reaction, Eigo is just as confused as everybody else).

Waku’s just here for a laugh and to cuddle Harusame who is the perfect cat ever.

I feel Kyoka and Touya's afterlife is just them fighting with Looney Toons level of violence at each other and Renji going either "I should have let them sniff each other through door first, this one is on me" or "You know what? This is fine, these two are getting enrichment and are too busy with each other to bother me. Silver Linings." Also is Touya being pathetic and incompetent also because of Kyoka's curse or is that all on him? It could be because of Himuras too, i can't really trust rich folks to be competent either

Touya being pathetic and incompetent is ALLLLLLLL him, baby. Au naturel ✨ but also the Himura - they keep trying to hunt the Todoroki but end up self-destructing. Wonder where he gets that from. They literally lost all their power in a couple generations lmao

Renji is the type of man to throw you in the deep end of a swimming pool (not ocean/body of water with a current, swimming pool) when you tell him you can’t swim to trigger your survival skills. He’s the type of guy to not give you a straight answer to something basic/common knowledge, but makes you hunt/work for it and when you get it, says “remember this journey”. Renji the type of guy to kill someone who says “I’m willing to die for x cause” because “a self-sacrificing mother fucker is useless to me, I need them to want to live”.

So him watching his mother beat the ever loving shit out of Touya is more like watching an older dog discipline a puppy.

Renji: I know that she’s biting his arm while sitting on him, but that’s what happens when you push the matriarch’s buttons.

Waku: I think you just find it funny. And that you’re glad he’s distracting her from you.

Renji: Maybe.
