Weekend Aesthetic.
Feeling recharged after weekend without social commitments. Enjoyed leisurely brunch ventured out to annual Arts Festival. a much needed quiet weekend before busy month ahead, the opera workshop I’m accompanying opens in 2 weeks.
Busy week, but productive weekend.
The new faucet arrived, and so did some nice crisp Fall weather.
Spent most of Friday extracting old sink and plumbing and installing sink(found at Goodwill a few weeks ago), new faucet and drain pipes. Really happy with how it turned out.
Found a piece of Fire King Jadeite for $2, and lovely group of Martha Stewart flowerpots on ebay for a really nice deal.
Tuesday.
Buns for breakfast.
A little gardening, asters and chrysanthemums coming into bloom.
Packed and shipped some Pilea Peperomiodes plants to friends.
Opera rehearsal and piano lessons.
Washing up some of yesterdays secondhand store finds.
Monday in the city.
Drove a friend to Dr. appointment, and since piano students canceled, did some extra treasure hunting and stayed for dinner followed by food exploring at the Super H Mart.
From the lovely wedding we attended on Saturday.
It was a busy but good week and weekend, and made roasted veggies for Sunday dinner.
This week so far.
Weather is cooling a little. Starting to think of where tender plants might go, will also need to find homes for the many Pilea babies. Done with opera rehearsals for the week because of “Fall break”. Found more white pumpkins to decorate with.
This week’s sustainable tip, courtesy of Instagrammer @zerowastechica, is a fun one. For your next celebration, try this: confetti from fallen leaves. 🍃 It’s biodegradable, easy to make, free, and looks darling.
ooh i love this!
-Mod Basil!
I love this idea!
Some mushrooms I spotted this morning.
A lovely Sunday evening out.
Saturday.
Brunch, and attending wedding (Also, I made the cake).
Wedding cake tiers completed.
Wedding is not till 5pm, and it’s in town. So I get to sleep in.
Friday. Rainy day at home.
Worked on wedding cake. Vanilla cake with mango puree and Swiss meringue buttercream.
Rainy afternoon after getting back in town. Opera rehearsal, piano lessons, choir rehearsal.
Teatime for supper, the BIGGEST croissants from Proof, we definitely overate, they were twice as big as our usual from The Little Tart. Lovely romanesco, plums and cape gooseberries from the market.
Tagged along with friend into the city today, mainly to pick up ingredients for upcoming wedding cake. In the process... stopped in to 3 favorite bakeries.
Early Autumn Aesthetic. Busy Monday(and on 4 hours sleep...).
Today is the Full moon festival or Chinese mid autumn festival, did not get around to making mooncakes but did celebrate with some exceptionally good ones I got from parents. Found lovely ‘Casper’ pumpkins at Kroger. Grill cheese and pickled okra has been a regular snack lately. Ladyslipper orchid looking nice.
