I can’t stand Karen Page
I’m not sure if it’s the actress, because I couldn’t stand Jess from True Blood either, or if it’s only just the character. Either way… She is a Mary Sue. If she isn’t crying she’s trying to tell everyone how to live their lives the way SHE wants to all while the hypocrite has a murder hidden in her closet. And GOD she is just “so great” that even the Punisher, who is still dealing with the death of his family, suddenly is her LI in his new show? And Daredevil? And don’t forget whats-his-face who was Matt’s partner in season 1.
Maybe it’s because her character reminds me of Felicity from Arrow… I don’t know. I just see her face on my screen and I cringe. Give me Jessica, Claire, Elektra, and Trish any day… Just… Keep Karen at home.
Like literally all the male characters are Gary Stus, so not liking a woman because she’s a “Mary Sue” falls /reaaaally/ flat. ~Mod S
judging from your page it seems like u are a karen fan, who likes to find her anti posts, and jack them. i cant stand her character. people arent always going to like your favorites. her character is flat and lacks the depth many of the other characters (female AND male) have
Interesting conclusion you came to when the recent posts on our blog are: several mentions of Dinah, several mentions of Valkyrie and Jane, and several mentions of Stranger things. Also interesting that you claim to have visited our blog, when our description is pretty clear in our name alone, yet you didn’t at all hit on our purpose. Here’s what the blog is about, though:
Fandom misogyny is REAL MISOGYNY. If you can’t have sympathy with women in media then when? Submit links, found posts, memes, meta posts or metacommentary. Our profile pic is just SOME of the women who get disproportionate amounts of hate.
That aside, you seem to be misunderstanding why I replied to your post, so let me clear things up!
Not liking a character? Fine! Personal opinion.
Not liking a character for sexist reasons? Sexist, gonna get called out by us.
I don’t care if you don’t like Karen. I care that your reasons are pure garbage sexism. There was no personal reason here as to why you don’t like Karen, just “she’s too popular and liked for a woman!” If you’re going to complain about that, you have to at least realize that this describes literally all the male characters and singling Karen out is sexism at work.
~Mod S
OP mentioned in the original post that they love Jessica, Claire, Elektra, and Trish, four women of different backgrounds with stories many have found appealing.
I don’t think OP dislikes Karen for sexist reasons. That’s a reach if I’ve ever seen one, especially considering the fact that the four women they mentioned are some of the strongest characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
You came in and started comparing it with men?
There was no personal reason here as to why you don’t like Karen, just “she’s too popular and liked for a woman!”
When she is the love interest of 3 people at the same time, all 3 happening to be main characters, it is a bit too much. I don’t think that has anything to do with sexism. It just puts Karen at the center of attention, which can be obnoxious for someone who is not invested in her character.
Your argument borders on a strawman fallacy. This is not about Karen being too popular or liked, this is about Karen being the love interest of 3 central characters, which is not something that occurs with any of the men in the Netflix series (might also be the case with the rest of the MCU, but I can’t recall).
Mary Sue might be poor wording on OP’s part, but if you read the rest of the post it’s quite clear that their main complaints are that
1) Karen tries to impose her own morals onto everyone else while still failing to follow those herself.
2) OP feels that it’s unrealistic that a traumatized individual who is still reeling from the loss of his wife already has a new love interest.
3) Karen being the love interest of 3 main characters is too much.
These are all valid complaints and don’t necessarily need to be tied to misogyny.
“Karen being the love interest of 3 central characters, which is not something that occurs with any of the men in the Netflix series”
Luke… Jessica, Misty, and Claire
Matt.. Claire, Karen, and Elektra
???
Luke having a one-night stand with Misty doesn’t really count imo.
You are correct about Matt though. (However, something notable is that none of his love interests are leads in their own solo series, which is the case with two of Karen’s, which could be partially why some fans feel more annoyed with her.)
Luke’s heavy flirtation, kissing, and sleeping with Misty is much more substantial than a never-confirmed-just-implied short-lived crush Foggy had on Karen, imo. Frank’s interactions with Karen’s can still be considered platonic. The only guy Karen’s kissed in the series is Matt, that’s the only confirmed love interest at this time.
Of course none of Matt’s love interests are leads in their own solo series, there’s only one! One female to four males. So odds are your male love interest may have his own series.
You can be annoyed with Karen all you want, there are plenty of other reasons to dislike her, I just don’t think the number of love interests is a valid reason when Luke, Matt, and even Claire have more confirmed love interests than Karen.

nonverbal understandment.
Finally finished watching The Punisher.
Here are some of my quick thoughts~
Happy Thanksgiving, Kastle fam! ♡
It’s that time of the year again! I wish I had time to draw more kastle fan art. Anyway, I am thankful for the few but important kastle scenes we got in The Punisher 🙌
Just imagine foggy or Matt asking Karen if she’s seeing anybody and she tells them she’s seeing a guy called Pete
Be careful.
do you think some store in the Marvel universe sells Punisher t-shirts? if yes I’m declaring it a thing that Karen owns one
Ahhh, this is so cute!! I had the same idea and drew her wearing the shirt last year and Deborah Ann Woll’s twitter retweeted it, so yes, i agree, it is a thing ;)
“What do you mean I don’t have to keep you safe?! My family is gone because of what I know! They’re gone! Karen, I can’t… Hey… I cannot let that happen to you, you got that?”
