Gabrielle was such an interesting character in the books, so I wanted to do a full portrait of her book version in a similar style to my Armand portrait. I did use Jennifer Ehle as a reference for the initial sketch, but in tracing my own sketch onto the watercolour paper and then the whole colouring process, it changed quite a bit from the reference.

Sketch of my friend's dog Nora, an ancient rescue with a permantly tragic and pleading facial expression. She is the sweetest angel baby in the world and can do no wrong.

This was originally just a rough sketch for this painting, but I was happy enough with it to refine it a bit, and now I like it better than the colour version.
