She and I… well, suffice it to say, we weren’t exactly the best of friends in school. However, everyone else seems to have grown out of who they were in high school and perhaps she has too, and wouldn’t mind me sharing her company. what's the worst part about being a teacher?

When a student comes to me and they don’t understand the material. It feels like I didn’t read the room and didn’t give them a chance to speak up if they didn’t understand it. That kind of feels like a failure on my part.

I also would like to say the parents who believe their child can do no wrong and it’s all my fault. Meetings and conversations like that are never fun to have. I understand that one believes their child is an angel and when they are home, they are the most behaved child in existence. But when they step into my classroom, sometimes, that all falls apart.

do you want children of your own?

I would love to have a child of my own but I am in no rush to one right now. I’m financial stable, loving, caring, etc. but I just do not think my life suits a child currently. I’m happy being single and childless.

03: do you regret anything?

Not at this current moment. I’m sure I’ve regretted staying up late one night instead of sleeping during my college days or letting my alarm go out and sleep in that extra 15 minutes instead of getting ready.

06: how do you want to die?

I have not thought of my death and I am not about to start now.

09: do you bite your nails?

I did when I was younger. Thankfully, I grew out of it.

12: have you ever stayed up 48 hours?

Absolutely. It was hell and definitely not worth it, in the end. I mean, I finished that project but I could feel myself and the way it was affecting me to be up that many hours.

15: have any pets?

I do not. I would absolutely adore a small puppy though.

How do you relax after a hard day of work?

It’s usually with a hot bath and catching up on shows I missed during the week. Or rewatching series I really liked.

What is special about the place you grew up?

It’s home.

No matter where I go or see or do, it will always be where my parents and sisters are. It’s where I grew up. It’s everything that has made me into the person that I am. How could I not think it’s special?

Do you think people can change?

I think this is a question that has no right or wrong answer. Even if I am answering it right now.

I think people can change, for lots of reasons. I think a person can change because it gives them a better chance at life (maybe they need to change their lifestyle to be healthier), because it makes themselves happy to change (kick a habit they don’t like) or because of a person wanting them to change (like in a relationship).

However, I also am a firm believer that you can not change, as a person. Once you’ve established what is right and/or wrong or what you will and/or will not accept, you can’t change that person and the foundation they’ve created for themselves. For example, and this is just my take on it, I don’t think you can change someone who lies about things constantly with no intentions of improving themselves and not hurting someone with their lies (even if they say that they didn’t mean it) and/or someone who is a cheater.

What do you like about being a teacher?

I like that I’m able to help lead the children into their future selves. These are pretty much their formative years and what better way than to spend my time than helping them be the best little humans they can possibly be? 

I mean, as a teacher, we all know that we are not doing it for the pay provided.

What game or movie universe would you most like to live in?

I could not even begin to tell you what game universe I’d be in because I don’t play games. As for movie universe, I’d say Marvel. Especially if all that was happening and I was safe and didn’t get snapped.

Where do you usually go when you when you have time off?

I guess it just depends on my mood. Sometimes, I’ll go and pamper myself. Like a massage and my nails and hair done. Other times, I’ll just fix things up in my house that I’ve neglected over the past weeks. If I’ve really been stretched thin, I’ve spent my time off grading papers and setting up assignments before.
