First and foremost I rarely post on social media, so sending something like this is a bit out of my comfort zone. However, after seeing so many claims, exaggerations, assumptions, and outright untruths being repeated, I felt compelled to share my experience as I attended Louis’s concert in San Diego and stood right in front of Zara and the child.
To be transparent, I do not now nor have I ever thought that Louis is in a romantic relationship with Zara, nor do I believe that the child is Louis’ son. That being said, people can believe what they chose to believe and take what I have to say with the grain of salt that seems to get passed about.
My friend and I were up against the barrier (the same ones that are stationed up front with the step for Louis to hop on at the end of the show). Anyway, it enclosed the JDelf crew. Zara and F arrived before the start of Louis’ portion of the show. A bit later Oli arrived.
Zara was low-key, not strutting about making herself know. In fact, they were all more reserved than anything. There was a bit of interaction between Zara and F but I can’t say there were many words exchanged, but once Oli arrived, he and F seemed more chatty. He’s known him his entire life so I’d understand why. And before anyone makes the comment that F may or may not like or feel comfortable with her, I didn’t see it that way, more so that he didn’t really care or she wasn’t engaging in much conversation with him.
As for F, what really stood out to me wasn’t anything dramatic. It was actually the lack of enthusiasm with the concert let alone seeing his “dad” on stage. Throughout the concert (and beforehand), he really wasn’t engaged. I did not see him singing along, dancing, raising his hands, clapping, participating with the light show during Kill My Mind. I did not witness any level of excitement from a child who’s father is on stage and whom he may not have seen on stage for 3 years, the last time that we’re aware was at The Hollywood Bowl (I was there for that as well). I could be mistaken because I had my back to them for much of the concert, but I did attempt quick glances when I could, he spent most of the time seated and largely uninterested, from what I could tell. There did not seem to be any encouragement from Zara or Oli to get him excited or pumped up. It was odd. I’ve a son in his early 20’s, I’d like to think if he were watching me or his father on stage he’d at least show a little enthusiasm.
I saw a claim that Louis was singing directly to them, acknowledging them. KMM was directed at Zara. From my perspective, that was not the case at all. I was waiting for Louis to call at least F out as he did three years ago. I didn’t notice any obvious gestures towards F and it almost seemed purposeful that Louis looked everywhere but towards them. He seemed much more engaged with the fans upfront.
As for Zara herself, at one point I was to take a selfie of my friend and I with the stage to our back so we turned to face Zara and F. Zara offered to take our photo, which I have, she seemed to be fussing a bit so I commented that she probably knows how to take the picture better than I so at that point she may have understood that I knew who she was, but who knows. She was very polite. No attitude, came across like any other person volunteering to take our picture. I thanked her and that was it.
I got the feeling that they were intentionally to be low-key, not make a scene and they achieved that, although F definitely did not seem to care to be there. After the show, I felt even more strongly that Zara and Louis are not in a relationship, F is not Louis’ son, and what we see is “work” and PR. Like it or not, It Is What It Is, in my opinion, and continues to be so.
Most importantly, this experience gave me a firsthand look at how an event can be exaggerated, misconstrued, or turned into something it wasn’t. A single claim gets repeated, assumptions get added, speculation becomes “fact”, and a narrative takes on a life of its own. I have photographs to support what I observed, (which I will not share publicly). It reinforced something I’ve come to believe about social media. It is often inaccurate, truths stretched, details omitted. We don’t know what goes on behind the scenes, nor do I believed we will ever really know.
I’m not asking anyone to agree with me, I’m simply sharing my personal experience. Lastly I very firmly believe in Larry :-)
