to archive and start anew or to keep this going? that is the question.

Dealer’s choice.
[Caption: Josh and his friend wake up in body bags, after dying with vampire blood on their system, and Marcel has to decide which one he picks as a vampire, while Klaus observes the whole thing. To read the dialogue, click on the images.]
From what you’re telling me, that school sounds like an absolute mess.
What do you think Klaus is gonna do when he finds out that you left him to suffer while you saved Hayley and her wolf friends? Let’s avoid discussing matters that are not your concern, shall we, Marcellus? Oh, come on, Elijah. I got guys all over this city.

“Well I’m not like most witches and there isn’t anything I’m not willing to do or line I won’t cross for my loved ones.”
It’d be a understatement to say you got enough off of your chest. I’ll be giving the coroner a call in a few minutes. Where are you heading off to now?
@diablesetanges
Headcanons needs to be made on “Beast” vampires. Whether or not Imma make that an actual thing, I’m not too sure yet.
Wake up witches. Before you destroy your own existence.

Jane-Anne Deveraux, you have been accused of the practice of witchcraft beyond the bounds of the rules set forth, and enforced, by me. How do you plead? Was that convincing? I studied law back in the ‘50s.
Why you dressing so classic? I don’t want my best dressed day in a casket.

5. Mun, you could have spent the time and effort you dedicate to your museIf roleplaying as a hero. Why did you decide to roleplay as a villain?
QUESTION ABOUT VILLAINOUS MUSES | @naturesloopholed
I’ll have to backtrack to my original mindset when I first saw Marcel: In 2013, this guy who is like a little brother to me kept recommending me The Vampire Diaries. I was reluctant because around this time I had a huge disdain for Twilight and their depressing protagonist/sparkling vampires & from a outside look, TVD looked like the television version of Twilight. Anyway, long story short, I caved, I watched it. Most of it was okay, some of it was painful. But boy, when Klaus and The Original Family were introduced I was a major fan. I never wanted a group of protagonists to die so badly before in my life lmao.
Then, when episode 5x20 aired, Marcel’s debut, I fell in love. I was like, “So let me get this straight. You have.. a MODERN day black vampire? No, not fucking Blade. That’s a king of the city? That’s the protege of my favorite villain in this series, Klaus fucking Mikaelson? He’s ruthless? He’s diabolical? He’s charismatic? Even Klaus can’t even bring himself to kill him? He inspires loyalty and he has this shit on lock? Hold up! Let me read some interviews.”
**Reads an article where CMD answered the question about how he went about creating the fun Marcel: “For sure he has an edge. He has a certain moral code, and high standards. So I looked for people that were fun, but you could see that in them. For me, Tupac was one of my main inspirations—watching his evolution, growing up, going to art school, then going to Oakland. And Marcel’s very business-minded, so I looked at Jay-Z and his books. He just thinks differently. I pulled a little bit of DMX, you can hear it in his voice. And I watched a lot of Training Day. I felt like Marcel is like always manipulating. With fear, with charm. He’s not apologizing for anything to Klaus. He’s so honest, but it’s a way of baiting him and manipulating him. I love that slyness, that subterfuge.”
Me: Sign me the fuck up. I want this character in my life. I want him now. There’s no fucking way I’m passing this up.
I wanted to see his development, I was highly curious as to what they were going to do with him. Like, is he exactly like Klaus? Does he have his major differences? How will their relationship end?! What kind of girls does this man go for? Why does his people love him?! So I hopped on Marcel before the Originals spin-off even started and went about my long, 5-6 yr old journey with The Originals.
2. Despite their villainy, does your muses subscribe to some sort of ethical/honor code that guides their behavior?
QUESTION ABOUT VILLAINOUS MUSES | @dissolvedshadows
“There are rules of engagement in battle, Marcel. Without them, you’d have anarchy.” — Klaus.
Diplomatic approaches in any situation before war. ‘The calm before the storm’, as the saying goes. Or better yet, Jus in Bello.
Not everyone is adaptable to the dark side of the world, so compelling them to forget is not beneath Marcel. It’s to protect their own sanity.
Never involving children in political affairs and the battlefield (in S1, he admitted that Davina’s abilities made him power drunk, and Davina wanted nothing less than to get revenge so that arrangement was a special case).
Damaging property. Looting/stealing from businesses is not his style. Back in the day, gangsters would intimidate owners with either their presence, words, physical violence, or destroying property. Marcel doesn’t play that game. He gets people under his protection his own way and does what he can to help their business thrive.
Treasuring your family, your brotherhood, your friends, with loyalty and love.
Leaving no man behind. Abandoning people? Nah.
Being fair. Season 5, when Hope’s friend killed a vampire and people were outraged, Marcel could’ve let the vampires be happy and kill that boy. But no, he didn’t. Not only because he was a kid, but because he was a vampire in transition. You’ll have to face endure his laws but once you’re out of punishment, Marcel would do what he can to be your guide to vampirehood. He grants leniency to those that are new.
Giving people a choice.
Not allowing racism a voice. Sorry, but freedom of speech isn’t given to white supremacist or anybody that subscribes to it. KKK rallies/marches don’t exist in NOLA when Marcel is in charge. For a 200+ yr old black man/vampire that actually was a slave, he wouldn’t allow himself or his original people to be disrespected like that.
Bullying.
Allowing anyone who proves themselves as a potential great vampire into his community. Marcel doesn’t care if you’re white, brown, arab, gay, trans, etc. Your gender/biological/whatever other identity doesn’t play a role in him being your friend and bringing you into the vampire life. Personality and your mental fortitude is what the’s looking at. He’s not a fan of bashing them either.
Treating those that follow you with respect. Marcel couldn’t agree with Tristan and Aya’s leadership style, because they were being reckless in their command and barely showed they gave a damn about those who would die for them.
This list can get longer. I’ll stop it here.
4. Are there any ethical/moral lines your muse will not cross? (other than his thing with kids obviously)
QUESTION ABOUT VILLAINOUS MUSES | @dissolvedshadows
Unfortunately, some of these he was forced to break, because being caught up in extreme situations called for it.
Using the word “nigga”. He listen to rap, he loves it, he loves all kinds of music, but he’ll NEVER be caught dead saying that word.
Children of his friends, frenemies, enemies, remain untouched at all times. Killing them is a no, turning them into vampires is a no.
Slaughter without probable cause. Mindless murders isn’t his forte.
Stealing.
Killing his own kind.
Compelling locals. Marcel established himself as a respectable person within The French Quarter community. He never had to force officers, residents, city officials, etc. to get his way with them.
Killing locals and or putting fangs in them.
Cheating. It’s whack that Marcel was so hung up on Rebekah in the show that he emotionally cheated on Cami (though.. they didn’t get to make it to an official relationship) and Sofya. My Marcel works with the here and now, so while he may have had Rebekah as his heart and soul at one point, he’d be completely focused on his partner and Rebekah’s presence wouldn’t affect him in the least.
Disrespecting other people’s religion when it comes to God. God doesn’t have a place in Marcel’s life. He doesn’t understand why people would want to believe in something they cannot see. He has a bit of a bitter view on it, but he wouldn’t violate them. You do you.
Leaving bodies for people to find. Marcel has his own cleanup crew. It’s nasty as it is a threat to their existence if bodies are just lying around like it’s all fine and dandy. If there’s a body, it disappears, it’s simple as that.
Forcing people into vampirism. Marcel is calculated in who he recruits into his army. Becoming a vampire is leaving your current race behind. It’s a cultural change. It’s a religion. It’s a lifestyle. If he sees you’re not mentally prepared or want the life (and you claim you do?), he will not turn you. You have to want it.
I can go on, I’ll stop myself right here.
