Betrayal looked around the room they’d stepped into, a room so very much like Chaos. It was messy, yes, but at least it was lived in, unlike her rooms. “That sounds good to me.” She slipped off her shoes and set the neatly by the door. “What scents were you thinking to use?”

Chaos turned to look her over before thinking for a moment. “I was thinking vanilla and lavender. To help calm you down and relax. And then something to cleanse your aura. How does that sound?” He smiled.

“Vanilla and lavender would be wonderful. Those are two I used to use myself when I needed to relax.”

“Perfect! But first you have to take a shower. Here! This way!” He raced out of the room as he moved to show her where his shower was. His bathroom was spotless, and the only place like that in his apartment.

Smiling, Betrayal followed Chaos into his bathroom, shocked when she found it to be spotless. But it was a comfortable room, and the shower was huge and had a rainshower head. Truthfully, she couldn’t wait to try it out, and she began undressing before even thinking that it might make him uncomfortable. She was already down to just her panties when she realized he was still in the room. Crossing her arms over her chest, she turned her head to look at him where he stood behind her. “Sorry…hope you don’t mind me undressing with you in here, but it just looks so awesome and I’m ready to jump in.”

Chaos stood in the bathroom, eyes nearly bugging out of his head. His jaw slack as he held a towel clearly about to give it to her. He had once been told it was impolite to stare but he didn’t care at that moment. “I-I…No. You’re ok. Perfectly ok.” He blushed all the way up too his ears. “I have a towel for you!”

HIs blush was precious, and her smile widened. Reaching out, she took the towel from him before he dropped it. His staring didn’t bother her; in fact, she was quite used to people staring at her, clothed or not. She did take a bit of pity on him since he did look a bit overwrought at seeing her half naked, and said, “Now, scoot while I get cleaned up. That way you can have everything else ready by the time I get out of the shower.”

“Mud baths and then those cucumber faces!” He beamed taking her hand and dragging her out of the room. “I’ll even massage you!”

“That sounds perfect actually,” she said as they left the library. Betrayal wasn’t sure if a spa day would really help or not, but she didn’t have the heart to take away Chaos’ happiness. Besides, maybe it would actually help her feel a little better, a little more like the goddess she used to be, that she hadn’t been in a long time. She hadn’t been herself since Eric was taken from her, and then Trust leaving her with no explanation…she hadn’t been in a good headspace for a while, and she honestly didn’t know if anything could fix it. Or if she was worth fixing. But she followed Chaos nonetheless. “I always did like a good spa day.”

“Perfect!” He beamed. “I don’t know of any good spas, but I do know that I can do all of that. So it may be a little jerky but that’s ok because it will feel good and you will love it. I’m pretty sure that is.” He nodded as he dragged her down closer to his quarters. “You don’t mind do you? I could always have one of the servants come over and help?”

“I don’t mind. We don’t need a professional spa, and I think we’ll be fine without the servants.” She put a hand to her hair as he pulled her down the hall, relieved to find that it was already in a ponytail. “I just don’t want to end up with mud in my hair if that’s okay.”

“Well if you put mud in your hair we can always wash it out.” Chaos leaned over to take her hand, under the disguise of checking out her nails. “I could always do your nails as well. What do you think? Pink? Black?”

“I think black. Never been much of a pink girl. Maybe my toes too, while you’re at it…if you want, of course.”

“I could do that!” He beamed and nodded. “We can do black on your nails and pink on your toes.” He swung her hand softly. “And I can wash your hair and braid it if you’d like as well.”

“Both colors would be fun–badass and girly at the same time. Good plan!” She gave him a slight smile. “Having someone play with my hair is something I love, so yes…I’d love to have you wash and braid my hair.”

Chaos nearly jumped up and down with joy as he pushed his door open and gestured for her to enter. “Come in come in. Make yourself down.” He shook his head. “Sit yourself down, make yourself at home. I’ll get the shower turned on so you’re clean before we start. And then I’ll set up the smells. Ok?” 

The living area was a mess, things were clean but strewn about the floor, over couches, literally anywhere there was space.

She’d just helped make sure that the wrong person got elected to a positon of power on Earth, and despite the rush that had filled her afterwards, as the days passed, she began to feel unsettled. Like what she’d done was wrong. She didn’t like feeling unsure of herself, and as she continured to walk down the hall, the weight of it dragged at her. She’d made a mistake in pushing humans to betray what they knew in their hearts was right, and she felt horrible. The urge to find a way to end it all was riding her hard, and she turned toward the library, sure that if she could find information on how one of them could end their lives permanently, the library would be the place to look.

He had gone in search of a particular book, looking for the proper way to season a chicken that he was sure he had read somewhere, yet now he was trying to find the manufacturing guide to waterballoons. With books strewn about the floors and tables he climbed up another later to find the right book. Hopefully this time.

When Betrayal walked into the library, she could only gape at the level of mess around her. It didn’t take her long to realize who was behind it. Following the sounds she could hear, she soon found the one responsible. “Hi, Chaos,” she said quietly, not wanting to startle him.

Chaos gasped loudly, falling off the ladder when he saw her into a pile of books. Sitting up as he saw the other he dashed over to her, embracing her into a deep hug. “My queen! Betrayal! It’s so lovely to see you! How have you been?! It’s been too long!”

Her eyes widened with concern when he fell off the ladder, but she didn’t have time to voice her concern for his well-being before he was crushing her in a hug. “I’ve been well, I guess,” she replied, hesitating a bit before returning the hug. “How have you been?” She stepped back and shoved her hands in to the pockets of the worn jeans she was wearing, hoping the smile she gave him was happy instead of broadcasting the sadness she was feeling inside.

“I’ve been ok. I’ve just been getting over a few things…. I had…someone else in me. It’s a long story.” He blushed deeply and shook his head. “You look sad. Can I get you anything? A book on giraffe mating possibly?” He turned around and began digging to find the book.

“I’m glad you’re okay. Sounds like you’ve had quite the time away.” She sighed quietly when he spoke again. “I’m sorry. I’m fine. Just tired. Just really, really tired.” She watched as he began looking for the book. “It’s okay. Maybe a book on something else. I’m not really into giraffe mating…but I’ll read it if you think it will make me feel better.”

“Oh no.” He stood up, almost running into her as he smiled. “No I don’t think it would make you feel better but it would help you know more.” He bounced on the balls of his feet before freezing. “What if we had a spa day? What if we had a spa and we enjoyed ourselves?”

Chaos smiled and followed her happily. “Well maybe you need a spa day? I’ve heard those are relaxing. Give you the needed break. And they smell nice. You should try that!” He nearly shouted he was so enthusiastic.

“I haven’t had a spa day in forever, but I do really like them,” she replied with a smile as they walked. “Wish there was one here in the palace. My bathroom is pretty nice, I guess. I could always light some candles and have a glass or two of wine while I relax in a bubblebath. That could work, right?”

Standing up straight, Chaos tried to play it cool. He cleared his throat and leaned as causally as he could against the wall. “Has it been a long time? I uh, hadn’t noticed. Fancy meeting you here…. Get lost?” He internally winced at how badly he was doing.

It was cute how nervous she made him, and she filed that information away to use later. “It’s been a few months at least. Too long, right?” Betrayal flashed him a sweet smile and took a step closer. “What have you been up to?”

“Oh, you know…chaos stuff.” He nodded trying to look cool but it more bobbed his head like a chicken. “What about you? Have you been here long? Have you…been doing anything fun?”

"I just got back today. Walk with me?" She smiled, then turned and started walking. "Just the normal stuff...betraying people, breaking things. Needed a break though."

Heat was collecting itself in his face and he straightened. His face tense as he pressed his lips to a thin line. “I … Would rather pass.” He pressed out and swallowed. He shifted his weight nervously. He put the book into the shelve next to him with a shaking hand. “I cant help on earth.” He said stern, looking more to the wall behind betrayal instead into her face. “There is nothing I can do alone so i do what I can to keep our home orderly at least”

Laughing softly, she decided to let him off the hook and not tease him any more. He was a good guy even if he wasn’t her type. “What do you mean you can’t help on earth? He shook his head. “I tried.. But it is too much.. Change is beginning and I believe the next war is close.” He looked to the window. “we should rather prepare to be in the middle of a battlefield” the last time he was on earth during a war was 1934. The dirt, the blood, the screams, Order shook it and he set down. He appreciated her effort to make the shelve look accurate and looked at her now for real. “I am tired betrayal.” He sighed. “No, well..besides you and war and my brother..”

Betrayal thought quickly about what Earth had been like right before she left. Nodding, she said, "I think you're right. War is coming...it's already present in some areas...but another of their world wars is coming." A small smile graced her lips as he spoke. "I'm sure it's exhausting trying to keep order there when humans undo your work at every turn. I myself have been quite busy with all the double talk and betrayal they've been engaging in lately. I've been having the most fun, but even I need a break from it right now."

Heat was collecting itself in his face and he straightened. His face tense as he pressed his lips to a thin line. “I … Would rather pass.” He pressed out and swallowed. He shifted his weight nervously. He put the book into the shelve next to him with a shaking hand. “I cant help on earth.” He said stern, looking more to the wall behind betrayal instead into her face. “There is nothing I can do alone so i do what I can to keep our home orderly at least”
