Asks off, hopefully just for a bit

hey again, so i’m sorry this trying-to-be-funny blog has to be consistently serious recently, but i think i need to turn off asks for a bit for my own peace of mind. i’m not sure how long it will be yet, but this blog is gonna go inactive for a while.

even after my last post, i’ve still gotten more people who don’t seem to understand that their behavior is out of line. a lot of it makes me laugh, because seriously? sending hate to an actual person over a video game character? this blog doesn’t reflect my actual feelings on the game, because, as i’ve said many times, it’s a joke. even if you think i’m being hateful, which i was never purposefully being, the responses have been ridiculous. i’m a human, and i’m sorry if some light mockery of your favorite video game character makes you feel upset or alienated (block me!!! block me!!!), but that character isn’t real and i am. 

i’m really grateful to all the people who have said supportive and nice things, which is why i’m not outright deleting this blog, i just need to take a little time away from it. to the people who’ve sent me nice things i have yet to respond to: i saw them, and i am really happy. i just need to have a little while where i’m not worried about checking my tumblr account bc of this shit, lol.

hey #betterp5 crew, i’ve been getting some pretty upsetting messages recently. i chose not to post hate mail on this blog from the beginning, because i didn’t want you guys to have to see it, but this hate has gone from being hilarious to being kind of disturbing. i’m a human, and i guess being told to kill yourself over and over along with other horrifying content isn’t good for your health. i’m sorry if you liked using the anon feature, but i have to turn it off for the foreseeable future. please feel free to continue to send asks, though! just know if they’re bad they’re going to be ignored and deleted.

my submissions had also started to get flooded with content designed to scare me, so i have to turn that off too. i feel bad about that one because i like working on the stuff you guys send me, but for now just send a link with what you’d like me to work on in an ask, i suppose. if anyone has any other solutions i’m all ears, although the person attacking me was using disposable emails so it’s not a question of blocking one thing.

didn’t think i’d ever have to be this explicit about it, but this is a joke blog. if me photoshopping pictures of a VIDEO GAME CHARACTER actually offends you, block the #betterp5 tag or just block this blog. i really am not intending to hurt anyone with this, and just think i’m being funny. feel free to disagree.

anyway gang, general reminder to everyone that fiction is not worth hurting real people over! i’m sure if you’re following this blog you’re probably already on that page, but i’m feeling the need to say it anyway today. i enjoy working on this blog because it makes me laugh, but if this keeps up i might have to abandon it because it’s not worth it if i dread every notification i get.

well, as i’ve said, i don’t really know why people think i have anything against makoto, i think he’s a great persona 3 protagonist!

but theoretically, if there were a character from persona 5 that i were to not love as much as the rest of them for personal character taste reasons, i might have turned it into a blog that surprisingly ended up attracting attention and occasional actual hate mail based purely on a dumb whim right after comic con lmao
