This gif speaks to the power of the spiral and it's by @alcrego, maybe my favorite gif artist I love the white against the red When I look at this image, I feel like I'm on a boat far out at sea. I'm watching a wave that is stories-taller than the vessel I'm on as it approaches, knowing the wave will overtake everything. I don't run for shelter. There's no reason to do so because the wave is inevitable. I stand and marvel at its power, knowing I'm doomed. It's a feeling of awe. I feel such immobilized fascination in the face of hypnosis. When it's good, hypno can take me over like a huge wave. A spiral can steal my attention and still my mind. Sinking, dropping, letting go all feel inevitable. When the best, most delicious words manage to wrap around me, warm me, fill me--what a feeling--There's nothing to do but surrender to it
