“you say that like it’s a GOOD thing.” the male retorted with obvious underlying humor intended. “     good friends don’t encourage them to get drunk on a weekly basis. they tend to give way better advice, or so i’ve heard.” seth said before finishing off his drink and setting the glass down. finally standing up, he turned to bex. “as flattering as that sounds, ‘playing prince’ isn’t exactly one of my ideal side jobs.” he said in his usual monotone fashion. “though it seems your leaving me with no option tonight.”

“Do you really want a sober friend who spends all their time trying to fix you?” She questioned before taking the last sip of her drink. There were times she felt horrible for drowning her feelings away but it seemed much better than any alternative. “C’mon, I’m sure deep down you enjoy being a prince.” She teased with a soft chuckle. “Just be grateful I don’t make you take care of me while I’m hungover.”

samaira shoved her hands into the pockets of her leather jacket to keep herself from fidgeting. “uh     yeah, i’m back.” the woman said with a chuckle that was intended to keep the mood light but somehow got LOST in translation. for mai, reuniting with people ( hadn’t ) exactly been a walk in the park. especially seeing as she never knew what story they were told in terms of her whereabouts. walking over the woman took a seat across from bex, “so how have you been?”

There came a point where Bexley thought she would never see her again, she was quite glad to be wrong about that. “I’ve been better.” She shrugged. “How about you?” It seemed odd to be having small talk after all this time but she was glad for it nonetheless. She just hoped they wouldn’t lose connection again. “I missed you, like really missed you.”

“I have a brain, though it doesn’t take much of a brain to make up a believable plot, I usually say a natural disaster struck most donors don’t even bother to do research. So the way I see it, i’m not doing any harm if they’re dumb enough to fall for it. Yeah probably but screw easy, this is way more rewarding than flipping burgers.”

“Well, that’s one way to put it.” She shrugged. “I would be too paranoid about getting caught to go through all of that, though. It seems like it leaves to much of a trail behind but I guess you know better than I do about it all.”

“It’s funny how much people are willing to donate through gofundme even if it’s for a fake cause, all I had to do was google pictures of a fucked up house and make up a sob story and bam money’s pouring through. Anyways, enough about me, what brings you to my humble abode?”

“...Seriously? How do you not get caught for something like that? I wouldn’t even risk it. Seems like too much of a hassle for potential consequences. I mean there must be some easier way you can get money.”

“    oh please you know i couldn’t get rid of you even if i tried.” he said with a mere roll of his eyes as a brief chuckle escaped him. “no of course not, bad would be an UNDERSTATEMENT.” the wolf said in what was intended to be his usual blunt manner but ended up failing once a half smile crept unto his features, courtesy of the alcohol. “actually i should probably get you home before i actually end up having to carry you home and risk looking like some lunatic.”

“Exactly, you’re stuck with me.” She grinned at her own statement. “You’re lucky I put up with all your mean comments. I’m such a good friend.” Any attempts to sound serious were betrayed by her constant giggles. “Oh please, someone would probably think you’re prince charming saving the poor drunk girl.” She rolled her eyes at him teasingly. “Besides, I’m wearing heels. You’ll have to help me up the stairs anyways.”

chestnut hues fell upon a familiar figure causing the witch to freeze in place. giving a slight tilt of her head, the woman blinked a few times as if to make sure her eyes did not deceive her as she saw her old friend though the window of the cafe. immediately snapping herself out of it, the witch entered the cafe, pausing behind the blonde. “    bex?”

Bex tapped the side of her mug as she stared ahead of her, lost in her own thoughts. She needed to get out of her apartment and the cafe was the only place she could think of to be alone for a moment. “Hm?” Strange, the voice sounded familiar. Once she had turned around, taking a few seconds to register who it was, a small gasp left her lips. “Oh my god...it’s really you.”

there was no other way to explain it. it was like a switch had turned back on inside of him. a light bulb suddenly illuminating the darkness inside him. as bexley’s lips touched his, the hybrid was flooded with emotion. those he had switched off over five years prior. seven years he had been hasani bahar had been parading around as kurt worthington. but it wasn’t until he switched his humanity off that he genuinely started to convince himself that the facade he had come up with was actually him. the pain hasani had felt after what happened with his pack, after leaving bexley was almost too much to bare. for over a year he had been running. trying to get away from it. but then when he met a vampire who told him he didn’t have to live in pain anymore, well, hasani took it. before he had been turned, he had always been a loving and compassionate person. been hopelessly devoted to his back and to bex. he truly believed he had been blessed with her. abandoning her took everything in his might and was one of his biggest regrets. when he was kurt and they had reunited, he wasn’t revisited with pain. but then bexley had started to change him. she always did have that affect. so now, with emotion pouring through him, all he could feel was regret for the misery he had caused her the past few weeks. the kiss was brief. hasani craved more. just to feel her affectionate touch again. eyes gazed at her as she pulled away for the briefest of moments, before closing the gap between them and connecting their lips once more. he leaned into it, responding with passion that was once lost.

Staring at him, waiting for a response, felt like an eternity. She expected him to pull away from her, laugh in her face over how pathetic she is, but her worries were soon silenced when he leaned in and returned her affections. Tears immediately spilled from her eyes as she wrapped her arms around him, pulling him in closer. She knew this could all end in regret, the possibility of returning to what they once were was near to impossible, but she couldn’t help but surrender herself to a fleeting moment of bliss. She has longed to feel his touch again, to return to the love he once had for her. It felt like the first time she kissed him all over again and she desperately wanted the moment to last. She returned the kiss with the same passion he did, giving into the heat of the moment. All she wanted, for one moment, was to forget everything awful they’ve been through. To go back to a time where she was once happy with someone she loved -- Hasani.

the corners of lucien’s lips tugged into a coy smirk in CONFIRMATION as one of his hands trailed through her golden locks. “    well to make use of the night of course.” the male hummed as he began to lead her down the sidewalk, pulling out his phone and messaging a contact before shoving the device back in his pocket. despite being one of his own it seemed the succubi still managed to encompass a certain type of innocence that he was not used to seeing. it was rare, he’d admit, at least for creatures like them but then there was always the underlying possibility that she was on the younger side. he supposed that’s what made it all the better. it was a new prospect. a ( challenge ). finally rounding the corner the incubus slowed down before stopping in front of a ritzy building and turning to her. “you said pretending to someone you’re not has lost it’s appeal, do you think you’re finally ready to show your true colors?”

“Oh, right.” She responded with a nervous chuckle as he lead her down the sidewalk, trying to hide how flustered she was. Hopefully with his help she could learn to act the way a succubi is supposed to and rid herself of her awkward ways. She tensed up when he pulled out his phone, wondering who was texting, but before she got the chance to build up the nerve to ask they were already approaching a building. “I-I think so.” She responded with a small shrug, a shaky smile tugging at her lips. Bex was not ready in the slightest but if she backed out now then she’ll never be able to face the opportunity again. She just kept telling herself to trust him, that he knew far better than she did. “Yeah, I can do this.”

elliot laughed before answering, “don’t worry. you’re not my type. i prefer them human.” the blonde seemed innocent; poor thing was shaken to the bone when she caught him in a… compromising action, so to speak. “just a small tip, most hunters are all mouth. they try to intimidate you, scare you into submission. honestly, there isn’t that much of a reason to be scared of them,” he said truthfully. he has encountered a fair few in his lifetime after all.

“i know a lot about, well, almost everyone and everything, i guess,” he shrugged. the vampire turned to bexley and smiled, “pretty name. i guess it’s nice to meet you too, under the circumstances?” he chuckled ironically. “so, what are you doing here? looking for your next victim?”

“Good to know.” Although it didn’t help to settle her nerves. He was still quite intimidating to be around, it was only natural that she remained cautious. “Says the one who could probably snap someone in half.” She pointed out with a shrug. “I can’t exactly defend myself against a hunter with weapons.” It was a worry that kept her up at night, wary of almost everyone she meets.

“You do? I barley know the basics.” She sighed. She was till human not too long ago, this whole world she was suddenly pushed into seemed to be endless. “Oh, I was just taking a walk.” She responded sheepishly as she averted her gaze from him. “I thought no one would be out here.”

“i’m actually kina embarrassed for you     in fact, i may just have to find a new drinking partner.” he said in his usual dry humor. “well at this rate i might not have a choice seeing as i can’t just LEAVE you alone at a bar with nothing more than your questionable judgement.”

“You are so mean. I might just cry.” Her pout was soon broken into a grin, followed by a string of giggles.  “My judgement isn’t that bad.” She paused as if a sudden realization hit her. “Yeah--You should definitely not leave me alone.”

“you’re actually probably the most equipped. i left when i was sixteen myself. so family is… sort’ve something i don’t really understand i suppose.” she admitted, shrugging her narrow shoulders.

“Looks like we both struck out on the family department.” A fact she wasn’t particularly bothered by. “I doubt we’re really missing out on much. The time I did spend with my family wasn’t exactly spectacular.”

elliot raised an eyebrow at her, walking closer slowly. “i wouldn’t hurt a pretty little thing like you,” he stated, stroking the blonde’s cheek. “besides, you don’t smell like human.” he halted his movements and stepped back. “that’s true,” he agreed, nodding, “but hide and seek is my favourite game. i don’t mean to toot my own horn either but i’m pretty good at it. of course, if you know of any who are up for a game, you can refer them to me,” he finished sarcastically.

“oh, a succubi?” he asked, looking at the girl up and down. “i can see it now. i don’t think i’ve actually encountered one ever. i might have - i wouldn’t know. i’m not their type,” he shrugged. elliot sat down and patted the space beside him for his new friend, “i’m elliot, by the way.”

“I have a hard time believing that.” She shivered at his touch. “I don’t? How wonderful.” It was unsettling that he could figure her out so quickly. Although she appreciated that he was supernatural at least. “Do you really think if I knew a hunter that I would be standing here talking to you?” She shook her head at the mere thought of it, she feared a hunter more so than the vampire in front of her.

“You know about us?” Lucien was just about the only one who could give her information on what she is, she couldn’t help but be curious of someone else who knew. She went against her better judgement and sat beside him. “N-Nice to meet you, Elliot. I’m Bexley.”

“sometimes, not always.” seth said as he glanced at the blonde; his brows raising in disbelief at her denial of being a lightweight. “      you just get drunk very easily, is that it?” the male said with a hint of sarcasm as a brief chuckle escaped him before taking another two shots. “pretty sure i’d need double that if i’m to get anywhere as drunk as you     i bet you can’t even stand at this point.”

“So what if I do? It just means I get to spend less money on drinks.” She boasted with a grin. Although it was quite sad to admit, she always felt incredibly happy during times like these. It seemed to make all her worries disappear for a brief moment. “You’ll carry me home, won’t you? I’ll even let you crash with me. C’mon -- it’ll be like a sleepover!”

“i mean, that’s true.” grace wasn’t particularly close to her father anyway, but she wasn’t sure that was entirely the point of it all.

“Sorry I can’t be of more help.” She sighed. “I moved out as soon as I hit eighteen, I don’t really know what’s considered appropriate in your situation.”

elliot backed away from the body and flicked the cigarette butt away. he wiped the remaining blood on his face and hands on his shirt. thank goodness his wardrobe was all black. “it’s only a little blood, sweetheart. don’t tell me you’re scared of that?” he teased, walking closer to the girl. he didn’t think that anyone would be around. after all, they were in a forest on the outskirts of the city. “it won’t matter who you tell, or don’t tell. no one can do anything about this,” he let out a breathless laugh. ‘fatal animal attack’, he thought to himself, wonder how many times i’ve heard that one.

he sucked his fingers clean of the body and waved his hands in the direction of the body. “sure you don’t want to try a bit? it’s good. i promise,” he smiled sweetly. the kind that makes your skin crawl. it was too sweet - kind of like the smile you would imagine the witch gave to lure hansel and gretel into her home.

“It’s not the blood that I’m afraid of.” She whispered, seemingly unable to raise her voice any higher. She would be a fool to not fear someone drenched in fresh blood. “I wouldn’t be so quick to say that.” She glanced up at him for a brief moment before diverting her gaze. “There’s hunters in this town. I doubt they’d show you any mercy.” She warned him, perhaps in the hopes he would refrain from harming her.

“I don’t feed off blood.” She shook her head at his offer, tugging on her coat as she desperately sought for comfort. “Besides, he’s already dead. He is of no use to me now.” She would never admit such a thing out loud, considering she felt completely disgusted with herself, but desperate times called for desperate measures.

                      THE forest was silent. not even the sound of an animal could be heard. heck, not even an animal in sight. perfect, elliot thought. he dumped the old man on the ground and the poor thing was shaken awake at the impact. if his bones weren’t brittle before, they sure were shattered now. “what—” the man couldn’t even finish his sentence before the blond attacked him. he was hungry - he hadn’t fed in two days. he didn’t waste anytime before putting his mouth onto the man’s neck and sank his teeth into the artery right there. he was greeted by screaming and with each passing moment, the screaming quietened down until the forest was resumed to its previous silence.

once elliot felt somewhat temporarily satisfied; he stopped. he pulled away from the bloody mess he made and lit up a cigarette. with one hand, he punctured through the dead man’s chest and ripped out his faintly beating heart. blood splattered everywhere. a smirk fell on his lips as he sat back and admired his handy work. the old man who once had a beating heart now had it ripped out of him and the hole that was once there was now used as elliot’s personal ashtray. he drained the corpse of blood that was still warm as he took breaks from his cigarette then proceeded to flick his ashes into the hole.

he noticed a sound to his left and quickly turned to see someone standing there. he didn’t know how to react except sit there and stare at the person. “can’t you tell i’m busy? can i help you?”

Bexley desperately needed a moment of silence, a chance to catch her breath and gather her thoughts. There was so much noise buzzing around in her mind that she felt as if she was suffocating. This was an issue drinking alone could not resolve. She figured the best solution would be to take a walk through the forest, away from anyone that could possibly cause her more distress. It was a fantastic idea at the start, walking through nature settled her nerves for a brief moment, but she seemed to forget just what town she was currently residing in. Somehow she managed to walk straight into trouble.

When she caught glimpse of a man hunched over a body she froze, her eyes widening at the sight of all that blood. Just a small glimpse of it caused her knees to shake. Thankfully her means of survival did not require such a mess. The scene unfolding in front of her was terrifying and her instincts yelled at her to flee and she was about to do exactly that but her presence became known as soon as she took a step backwards.

“I’m sorry.” She mumbled out an apology past a nervous chuckle. “Oh no, I-I was walking around and stumbled upon you and I didn’t mean to disturb you I just--” She stopped herself before her rambling got too out of hand. “I-I won’t tell anyone, I promise.”
