♱ “Ah- nothing we can do but keep fighting.”
Stuck outside on the night of the hunt. While a sadistic bastard, Val almost seems to be feeling fear- if only momentary. Darker thoughts came with every passing moment. Maybe it was just the lack of sleep finally getting to him; he hadn’t had much security until he’d met Fionn.
♱ “I’m sorry. It must be tough- But I know you’re more than tough. We’ll get through it- no matter how long the night is.”
“Tough or beastly we might be, but we’re still human, for the most part.”
The harsh note of fatigue drew across his keen ears, as harsh as a scream, and it was not something the beast could ignore in good conscience. Fionn’s usual smile flattened, concern chewing away at his good cheer. He felt every emotion intensely, and as single-mindedly as an animal.
The plague and beasthood he could deal with, but this was the real curse.
“And we all get tired at some point, even you, Val, staying up this long isn’t doing anyone any good.”
“The Hunt can wait, you need to rest, we need to rest, or it’ll slow us down, and the beasts don’t ease up for anyone.”
