A MYSTERY BEAST SPOTTED
There have been a large creature killing off livestock here in Pinebox. Ezekiel and I were searching for the source of large creature tracks seen leading to an area fenced off from the public. Always a good sign around here.
To our suprise we met a fellow hunter named Markus. His spouse didn't introduce themself but quickly demanded we help them through the fence. We opened up a hole in the fence and continued on. They bolted through the hole and kept off into the woods. We chased after them our pace quickening when we heard a deep growl.
The scene we came upon was horrific. A beast encased in shadow 9 feet tall and with the capability to be bipedal. Its skin stretched and leathery. Markus' spouse limp in it's arms. Ezekiel fired off a blast and the beast reared back dropping the body. Markus rushed forward to his spouse but the beast took deadly charge. I grabbed Markus by the back of his jacket ripping him back to me while Ezekiel sent off another blast. The beast grabbed the body and ran to the depths of the forest.
Ezekiel and I had to drag Markus back out of the forest. He screamed the entire way thrashing out of our hold multiple times. Once we past back through the fence he stopped. Body going limp he just sat in the dirt starring unblinking down at his hands. I tried to console the man, but what do you even say here. "I'm sorry your spouse was eaten by a giant unknow creature still roaming the forest. That must suck."
People I've loved have gotten hurt out there sure. Bitten, beaten, bruised beyond recognition. It's awful to sit in those waiting rooms not knowing. But I've never left the thicket knowing down to my bones that I'd never see someone again. It's a chilling feeling, the loss of hope. I'm going home and calling Vlad tonight.
I of course have my theories on what happened, and on what the thing was. How a creature could be so large hiding out in the thicket? As usual I can't state my theories here. Some people may be upset with my accusations. So for now all i can say is watch out for the things that lurk, beyone the thicket.
