Reblog if you are willing to do heart-to-heart threads where our muses just sit and talk about their feelings, things that have happened to them in the past, or even current events within their verse.
don’t jokeship with me because 2 hours later i’ll have feels for the pairing.

Two figures sat upon stone steps at the top of a mountain temple, gazing up at the night sky together. Yueguang and her best friend, Ai, another Night Phoenix, would often sneak up to this old temple to gaze at the stars together. Inseparable since they were pretty much hatchlings.Yueguang was wrapped in a warm fur cloak that belonged to her dearest friend after Ai insisted that his best friend take it as the night was chilly.
From a time when she and Ai were adolescent Phoenixes.
Glancing to her friend, the young noblewoman smiled at her nobleman and warrior companion. “What do you think we’ll see when we fly high up there together one day? Maybe the planets, or the Moon Goddess? Most certainly not the Jade Emperor...”
Ai laughed brightly, his bright eyes sparkling as brightly as his grin. “He’s far too lazy to even come down here from the Heavens. But we might see some of the other deities. Well...” He paused and glanced at her out of the corner of half-lidded eyes with a knowing grin spreading across his face now. “I know I’m already looking and talking to one now.”
Yueguang immediately blushed. “Must you bring that up?”
“You and I both know the truth about what you are, Sha gua.You cannot hide anything from your best friend.” But his smile softened and his eyes sparkled brightly as he looked upon his best friend. “One day your powers will be recognized and your parents will have no choice but to begrudgingly accept that you have surpassed them. A moon deity. You have your name for a reason.”
“As do you, Ai.” While Yue would still refuse about being called a goddess of any sort, being quite humble, she knew her friend spoke the truth. “And maybe one day I will be free of mother and father’s torment and be as free as the night wind. I hope when that happens that we can still fly together in the night sky.”
Ai laughed softly, wrapping his arms around his best friend in a warm hug and resting his cheek on top of her head. “You know we will, sha gua. No matter how long we must wait for it.”

"Rickard?..." The Night Phoenix murmured quietly, dark shadows under her eyes only accentuated her sad features as she lifted her head to look about her husband's study. "Rickard are you here?..."
“My Lady?” Oddly, it was Milo that was there to greet her and he moved to her side with all the precision of the honor guard, bowing deeply to her as his tail feathers spread low behind him. “My apologies Lady, but Rickard was called away to the Amarathian border along with a contingent of guards. He left you a letter.”
Passing her a small beige envelope, the peacock stepped back to give her privacy to read.
~My love and light, I’m sorry I could not be there to say goodbye but matters are urgent and I had to take wing to the border. There is a group of satyr attempting to breach the peaceful borders and in accord with the treaties I have with the Amarathians I had to see the matter settled. I will return as soon as I am able and will send word as often as I can in the meanwhile. Until we are reunited, my heart remains as always with you. Love, Rickard’

“Rickard is your husband though. He is by your side to share everything with you, the good and the bad.” The healer smiled softly as she played with Yue’s hair and smoothed her clothes down, still rocking them softly back and forth. “You wouldn’t want him to hide his hurts from you, would you?”
She knew the answer to that already. As goddesses, they would try their best to take all the troubles on their backs and hold up a strong front for everyone else. They were supposed to be pillars of strength for others, not the other way around.
“I know,” came her whispered response, eyes still closed as the tears started back up again. Feathers began to appear along Yue’s hairline, a deep, rich purple. Her hands continued to tremble, her skin turning a deep, silvery grey and scaly like bird’s feet with her nail turning black and starting to grow into talons. She was becoming more stressed despite her own attempts to keep herself calm.
“Forgive me...” was what came next...and Yueguang fell unconscious, falling limp against the healer. Had she not been nestled against the form the other goddess was using, the Night Phoenix would have very well fallen over and potentially hurt herself from collapsing.

The swan’s silver wings raised up protectively and curved around Yue’s form, the nature goddess pulling her in close and coaxing her to lay her head against her chest. There was a mortal heart beating in there, soft and tender, and there was the thrum of nature energy running just under the surface. If Yue opened her mouth when this close she’d be able to taste fresh grass and the sweetness of flower nectar. The touch invoked memories of being young and picking dandelions simply for the pleasure of spreading the seeds all across the yard. Finding purple thistle and nibbling on the tiny petals with friends.
“It’s alright, you don’t have to return anywhere you don’t want to. If all I can do is help ease the pain until this chaos ebbs in your land, then I’ll do that. I’ll be a balm for you so you can rest easy. I won’t leave your side until it’s finished…” Delphi promised, a fierceness in her voice, the stability of a redwood, stalwart against the forces around them.
The Night Phoenix did not resist, immediately resting her head on the swans chest as tears continued to stream down her cheeks. That Delphi had Celeste’s form was more comfort to the hurting bird woman. The stress was starting to wear on her body and her hands shook slightly, feathers beginning to appear on the back of her hands. Soft, lovely deep purple feathers. The memories that she felt and ‘saw’ from the goddess helped sooth her some, but her hands continued to tremble and the feathers did not go away.
“My kind, sister, we are empaths. We feel, and we feel so very strongly. We sympathize and empathize with others, use our sensitivity and abilities with emotions to help others. It also does not help that the Equinox and an eclipse are so close together this time..But because I feel, that I can be the living embodiment of emotion…it is taxing at times.”
“The chaos in my land has been going on for decades now. The cruel nature of some humans…it does not always affect me in this way, but this is just one of those times where it does. But if you will stay with me…that alone will do me a world of good.”
The swans hands stroked her gently and she even started to rock Yue like she was a younger sister. In all honesty, she likely was. Delphi had been around for a long while, although she had only ever stretched her consciousness as far as the aviax lands and Amarathian borders.
“I wish I could help more to block the pain.. for now I think we should surround you with as much love and attention as we can. Hopefully the positive will help to outweigh the negative you’ve been made to feel.”
“I think that is a good idea.” Her hands trembled still but her tears had stopped. The rocking helped, reminding her of her grandmother and how she would rock Yue like this even as Yueguang became a young adult. Her grandmother had known how Yue’s parents treated her and would always give her as much love as possible when she visited her granddaughter.
“Part of me is glad that Rickard is not here to witness this. He is already so busy most of the time that I feel as though I am just one more thing to worry about when he does not need to worry about me so much...” her sadness and vulnerability showed clearlyto the goddess, weary blue-violet eyes closing to rest for a moment. “The good will always prevail. As long as there is good in the world, the negative will not get very far.”
"Rickard?..." The Night Phoenix murmured quietly, dark shadows under her eyes only accentuated her sad features as she lifted her head to look about her husband's study. "Rickard are you here?..."

The nature goddess brought Yue’s hands in closer to her and gently kissed her knuckles. It troubled her that her sister was hurting, and even though healing wasn’t her primary element, she thought she must have enough connection with it to help somewhat. Lifting her eyes to Yue’s, she lightly squeezed her fingers, the green of her eyes now rimmed in silver as she dipped into her reserves of power.
“I’m a nature goddess, as well as fertility and healing to a lesser extent. I think that if we open up to one another, I should be able to find what’s causing you pain and wash it out of your system. It should help for a good week or so to make you able to get by without pain, and from there you can seek out the physical source in your homeland to help abate it.” Delphi explained, a look of concern on her face.
“Nature is one thing that helps to heal my kind. The Night Phoenixes help to protect the Earth. In turn, the earth is part of us, it resonates with our souls and protects us in turn. Unfortunately, the bond of our souls with the earth can cause harm because of the resonations. That is what is causing my pain.” she curled her dainty fingers gently around the back of one of the goddess’ hands and gazed at her with eyes that told stories over many centuries.
“I will appreciate any help you can give to me, my sister. While I have suffered this exact same pain before because of what the humans do to harm the earth and each other, I can feel it’s dark tainted energy within the depths of my soul. Throughout the many centuries I’ve lived...I have felt the pain from this exact same situation many times. It always passes, but...” She paused, tears beginning to form at the corners of her eyes.
“My sister...I cannot go back home. If I were to go, my family, who I have estranged myself from for many reasons in order to keep myself safe...I...” Tears began to stream down her face as her voice became cracked and quieter. “They would know immediately of my return and the abuse would begin anew. Please...if you can take my pain away even for just a week while I wait for this to pass...it would be better than nothing and certainly better than returning to my homeland.”
"Rickard?..." The Night Phoenix murmured quietly, dark shadows under her eyes only accentuated her sad features as she lifted her head to look about her husband's study. "Rickard are you here?..."

Milo didn’t look comfortable with the thought of leaving Yue alone but he wanted to respect her wishes. Bowing to her, he let Meifeng lead him away to an appropriate distance and hesitantly cupped her hand in his own. Not quite holding it, but close enough that they could take comfort in one another all the same.
Delphi moved over to Yue and sat at her side, smoothing out the short skirt of her dress as she sat down. The feathers in her hair seemed to move even though there was barely any wind. Reaching a hand out to the Night Pheonix, she gently squeezed it, offering her strength physically before she slowly opened her senses to nature to help with the hurt.
“Would it trouble you if I called you sister?”
While the three stood guard a short distance away, Yue turned her attention back to the goddess, letting her own true aura burn through her carefully constructed magical barrier. A smile crossed Yue’s lips as she in turn gently squeezed Delphi’s hand in return.
“It would not trouble me at all. I am happy that you ask that.” The feather ornaments in the Night-Phoenix’s own hair fluttered slightly as well. “Delphi...” her eyes grew dim and tired once more, the luster draining from the dark patch of color on her face and her body sagged once more. “Though I already miss him terribly...I am glad Rickard is not here to see me like this.He already has far too much to worry about than his wife falling ill due to the energy of what my soul resonates with. How might you be able to help this old birb?”
