Still struggling with the essays, so Iāll do more work on those in the morning. Canāt believe December is almost upon us! My application deadlines are approaching quickly, and I feel so behind :/ But Iām doing my best.

Hey. It doesnāt matter if youāre curling a 40lb dumbbell or a 5lb dumbbell. It doesnāt matter if youāre squatting 150lbs or 30lbs. Or even no weight at all. It doesnāt matter if youāre jogging a 17 minute mile or running a 7 minute mile. Youāre working hard and youāre improving and I am so proud of you.
Iām an early bird: I like to wake up around 6 am, get ready, just taking my time and then start working. Even when I donāt have school, If I wake up after 8 am I feel like Iāve already wasted half of my day. I think waking up early is the key to a productive life so these are just a few tips to follow if you want to become a morning (and more productive) personšø
donāt dine lateĀ š You should always wait 2-3 hours after your last meal before going to sleep. I used to eat and then go to bed in 30mins-1hour⦠just changing this habit improved my sleep a lot!!
plan + prepĀ š Before bed I always prepare my school/work stuff, food, clothes etc to avoid rushing in the morning. I also like to have a general idea of what Iāll do the next day. (Check the weather report as well!)
get more BETTER sleepĀ š Following the sleep cycle theory is the best way to get aĀ good nightās sleep! If you wake up at the end of a cycle, youāll feel well-rested. On the other hand, if you āinterruptā a cycle youāll feel tired no matter how many hours youāve slept. Each cycle lasts about 90 mins and, on average, we needĀ ~15 mins to fall asleep. There are tons of apps for this, too. I personally stick to sleepyti.me.Ā
know your sleeping habitsĀ š It is important, however, to know how many hours of sleep you should get (according to your age) as well as the ACTUAL amount of sleep you need to feel rested⦠and thatās up to you, ācause weāre all different! For example, I sleep a lil less than I should for my age but it still works.
drink waterĀ š This aspect is SO underrated oh my god- if you wake up tired even after 9 hours of good sleep, itās probably because youāre dehydrated! Drink a glass of water before going to sleep (it helps lowering your body temperature too)!
speaking of temperature⦠š It is thought that the best room temperature for sleep should be between 60-67°F (16-20°C)
no light, no light š Stay away from artificial light (computer, phone, tv etc) 15-30 mins before going to bed. Iām guilty here, since I always check my phone before sleepingā¦Ā š° Turn off your electronics and do something else: take care of yourself, your skin, take a shower, have some chamomile, read a book, stretch&meditateā¦
set your alarm š I wake up almost every day 5-10 mins before my alarm: thatās because our bodies gradually get used to our routine (the so-called biological clock!) Anyway, to avoid sleeping in, I recommend you to set an alarm. Additional tips are changing the tune every week and putting your phone across your room.
wake up š To actually wake yourself up the first thing you wanna do is wash your face with cold water. Yes, even if itās winter. Sorry, I donāt make the rules! (I like to do some yoga stretches too but itās optional)
get ready š Have a shower, get ready, morning routine⦠do your thing! Remember to always take some time for yourself. Donāt rush it. Take your time. Itās the best part of the day.
NEVER skip breakfast š Please please please for the love of God you should always eat something within 1 hour after waking up. Drink plenty of water too!! Check out my feed your brain masterpost for more!
plan your day out š While having breakfast I write all the tasks I have to do in my planner (I watch the news and check my instagram too haha). If you donāt like planners I suggest you to write everything on a piece of paper youāll eventually throw away. The key here is to free your mind from thoughts, problems and focusing on important things.
Now gather up all your things and youāre ready to go!

feb 2, 2016 // 6:48 pm Tuesdays are my one of my busiest days, not going to lie. Today was beautiful though and Iām feeling very productive!
120416 - The setting sun made for a lovely photo of my space in the library. Today was an eventful day: I submitted my term paper at last and completed a class presentation. Currently making a list of events Iām interested in at The O.P.E.N. Arts Festival held during the summer break while listening to a fun playlist on Spotify :-)
Iām so excited to live. Life is good and getting better
