As a bisexual woman, I agree to this to an extent. A bisexual person belongs at Pride regardless of who they’re currently dating, yes - but if they are dating a straight person, they should NOT bring their partner. Straight people have no place at Pride or any LGBT space, period.

Bisexual people have every right to be part of the community! It doesn’t matter if their lover is male or female. And @gaylor–mars you’re absolutely right. Straight people should be allowed to go to pride parades 100%. Straight trans people and straight allies or heck even just straight people who aren’t lgbtqa-phobic should be welcome. As long as they accept lgbtqa people I don’t see the problem. Segregation does not help.

Pride is supposed to be inclusive, and about showing the world that despite ONE aspect of ourselves being different, we are all essentially the same (i.e. HUMAN). That said I suppose that people trying to dictate who can/cannot attend pride based on where they like to stick their dick (and/or have dicks stuck/not being interested in dick at all) does nothing more that prove that there are aspects of the LGBT community that are just as unaccepting, hate-filled and bigoted as the most homophobic/transphobic people in the world

I can add to this list though - a couple of months ago I was working late shift as a hotel receptionist when the phone rings, it’s an internal call so I pick it up and just say “Good Evening, Reception” The response is

“Hi this is Mr (insert name), I’ve just checked into room 216. Is this a non-smoking room? I can’t find the ashtray, just a sign that says NO SMOKING”

I then had to explain that the lack of an ashtray and the presence of the no smoking sign meant that yes, that particular room, like all the other rooms in the hotel were non smoking.

These are public areas and no one wants to walk their kid around there knowing there’s a designated cumdump zone. I can’t say I’ve never done shit in places I wasn’t supposed to when I was a teen, but to actually pretend like this is a ‘right’ and needs to be funded by taxpayers money what.

The gay part is even more silly? All these years people have been trying to get rid of the image of gay people being perverts and creeps, and now they’re basically saying gay people are inherently perverse, so much so we need to allocate public property to it.

As someone else pointed out we accept that it happens in many designated places and often forbidden ones, all this would do is create another designated place were sex was permissible…

As for people not their kids near a cumdump zone…well given they have a child I would hazard a guess that said child already lives next to such a zone, possibly several if they have neighbouring families ;)

So far most of the arguments against this seem to be of the “eeeww icky” variety.

I think that @quinzelade had a great point in treating it like a public nude beach and if I’m not mistaken many nudist colonies are open to the public. The only difference being that dangly bits are being used instead of seen. And if it were like a nude beach then at that point it would be the fault of the parent for taking their child there

Well… I see nothing massively wrong in engaging in sexual activity in “public” areas, providing that you’re sensible about it and choose somewhere discreet and not, y’know, fuck like rabbits in the middle of a large expanse of grass next to picnicking families. Personally speaking wooded areas work best, or fire escape doorways of quite backstreet pubs in coastal Scottish towns, but certainly not on sandy beaches (you end up with sand in areas you REALLY don’t want it).
