It's not the queerbaiting hitting hard, it's the waiting, the expectation.

It's the slow burn that makes it hit hard like that. In long series with heterosexual relationships happens all the time: the constant may or may not happen.

Like in The Office with Jim and Pam, or in B99 with Amy and Jake. Since the beggining you can sense they are soulmates, but the producers and writters decide to take their time in making cannon the relationship so the audience keep watching.

Wednesday might end up being a great slow burn or, on the other hand, end up being the worst queerbainting of our lifes.
