Diana - Roman Goddess of the Hunt

Diana is the Roman version of the Greek goddess Artemis. She and her twin brother Apollo were the offspring of Zeus and Leto. Both gods are the deities of the hunt, and Diana is also the deity that presides over child birth. If a woman died in childbirth, she was said to have been struck down by Diana. Similarly, if a man was struck down inexplicably,  it was believed that he had been shot down by Apollo. Apollo was regarded as a deity of the sun while Diana was worshiped as a deity of the moon.

Diana was worshiped in Italy before being fused with her Greek counterpart by the Romans.
