I’m like 67% smooth, but there’s a definite chance I’ll choke on that last 33% and you’ll have to take me to the hospital.

To every Tumblr user
So this is my first post on tumblr and I’m sorry if I’m breaking the social norms and rules on how posts on tumblr are supposed to go but I honestly don’t even really know what I’m doing on here. I just know that I heard that tumblr was a place where you can be yourself without any judgement and I don’t know if that’s true or not but even the hope of a community like that genuinely existing was enough to make me log on and browse around for a bit. And this is what I found:Â
When I typed “bi” in the search bar and didn’t see 50 million posts calling it sin, I almost cried.Â
When I typed in “poetry” and the first post was a passage by ma.c.a @vomitingwords instead of the 23rd chapter of Psalms and I felt so relieved I almost laughed out loud.Â
So then I tried words like “friendship” and “mountains” and “laughter” and “new words” and “puppies” and I was rewarded with post after post of beauty and light and joy.Â
And then finally I searched the words “bad day” and for every single post expressing the darkest thoughts a person can have, there was a post or even two announcing that life will be okay, that we can do it, that every bad day has a beautiful sunset even if it takes a messy path to get there.Â
So thanks, tumblr. I don’t know what I’m doing in life, but I’m glad to be doing it here.Â
