Travelogue Summer School 3–8.08.2015 → Porto (PT)

Travelogue Summer School is a one-week forum for debate and collaborative practice dedicated to professionals and students in the fields of design, architecture, arts and related disciplines.

Through a psychogeographic deconstruction of the urban environment, Travelogue Summer School aims to investigate the city through a type of ‘fieldwork’ comprised of a stimulating programme of guided tours, talks and workshops run by multidisciplinary practitioners. Based upon these experiences, the summer school will culminate in a publication where participants will collaborate on a unique guidebook about the city. The goal of the guidebook will be to envision an account of Porto that serves as an alternative to the official national narratives and eulogising language so often found in travel literature in order to reimagine the urban arena as a space to question social and political relations.

We encourage applications from Portuguese and international applicants who are fascinated by the exploration of urban space, share a genuine desire to work collaboratively and are interested in advancing their work in a unique context.

This is screenprint on wood. As it was a lot different spaces, with different characteristics, we have opted by using wood, to make a nice contrast with stone all over the place.

Outdoor signage for Technical Unconscious. 

This exhibition was curated by Inês Moreira and it happened on Mason's Cooperative in Porto, Portugal. It is a huge complex, which has been deactivated a few years ago. Nowadays, it works as a school.

Catalogue and poster for Ver, Fazer, Pensar, Editar exhibition.

Catalogue:

A4, printed on Munken pure paper and couche.

Poster:

Inkjet print (background), mono print (red) and silkscreen.

This project was to present the new collection of drawing and etching of the Faculty of Fine Arts of University of Porto. During 2 years, they gathered drawings (more than 4000) made by students that were presented as examples in classes by the teaches, archived, inventoried and photographed them. After that, the school organized an exhibition, showing a selection of drawings and etchings and edited a catalogue.

My base of work was exactly the idea of cataloguing and inventorying a collection and a huge collection of artworks. The poster and the cover of the catalogue have the inventory number of each drawing presented and the order of the drawings is based on their number.
