7. “I’ve missed you” kiss for bucktommy please 🙏
“Fancy meeting you here.”
Buck knows that voice. He didn’t expect to hear it tonight, but he’s not sure why he didn’t factor Tommy being here as a possibility. It’s a first responders’ singles night at a badge and ladder bar located between the 118 and Harbor. Of course Tommy is here.
Buck turns his head towards the sound of Tommy’s voice. Tommy smiles shyly, fingers rubbing nervously over the label of the beer bottle in his hand. His hair is a little longer on the sides, with a few more greys sparkling at his temples. He’s so handsome that Buck's knees wobble at the sight of him. He has to lean back against the bar to stay upright.
“Tommy,” is all Buck manages to say. His mouth is open in a dumb smile. He wishes he had a better poker face, but he doesn’t. Especially not when it comes to Tommy.
“Evan,” Tommy teases. “How’ve you been?”
“Good, you know, all things considered. Got kidnapped, developed a drug dependency, and now I’m fostering the kid I helped my friend’s wife conceive. Oh, and I moved.”
Tommy’s eyebrows shoot up. Buck hadn’t meant to say all of that, but here they are. His mouth ran away with him once again.
Instead of running or judging or even looking concerned, Tommy just laughs fondly.
“God, I’ve missed you,” he says, eyes soft on Buck’s face. “I’ve missed… all of this craziness.”
Buck’s heart skips a beat. “You’ve missed me?”
“From the moment I left.”
Buck steps closer. They’re almost chest-to-chest. He drops his eyes to Tommy’s lips.
Tommy’s eyes are half-lidded. “I don’t know how you’ve found time.”
“Oh, I’m great at multitasking.”
Tommy leans in first. Buck meets him halfway. Tommy’s lips are rough against his own, and he tastes like the pretentious IPA that Buck never quite figured out how to appreciate straight from the bottle, but always chased into Tommy’s mouth. Tommy’s arm wraps around Buck, pulling him closer, making him feel warm and safe.
It’s perfect. It’s everything Buck has been missing.
They keep it chaste, mindful of where they are. Buck leans back in for another quick kiss, then one more. They’re both smiling when they pull back.
“I don’t want to miss you anymore,” Buck says.
“We should talk, then. Unless you had your heart set on playing Singles Bingo tonight.”
“Nah. I think I got what I came here for.”
