An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby had their own chat group on their phones for two years now, established a few weeks after the triplets first arrived at Scrooge's manor. Meant to serve as a quick means of communication, it has since became its own hub of inside jokes and drama. However, a mysterious glitch causes four unknown chat users to become a part of their rather personal chat group, bringing with its own memes, inside jokes, personal drama, and maybe a deeper look into the kind of people the kids are and may be...
An attempt at creating a new Ducktales AU while also minimizing the amount of work writing, this fanfic lets us peer into a completely different universe, one where some roles are swapped, and in turn the chaos that such changes brings.
Finished with the original four, now moving onto the next set of kids.

Working on a Ducktales AU one-shot where Donald ends up going on the Spear of Selene and not Della
More of a series of snapshots into what life was like in this AU, but for a brief idea of what this AU is like:
Della is a lot more cautious than she is in the Original. While she won't constantly hover over the kids, she has a bad habit of giving them every possible protection gear whenever they leave for someplace dangerous.
She has also taught the triplets a variety of life skills for any possible scenario, including; lockpicking, scavenging, forging signatures, identifying poisonous plants, archery, making makeshift fires, ect. Yeah, in hindsight, she recognizes that that some of those skills was a terrible idea to teach to kids.
She doesn't shy away from explaining why exactly she is raising the kids in a houseboat alone, but says it in vague terms.
What the triplets know: She and her brother lived with their uncle as explorers, with her uncle having a habit of favoring Della over Donald due to her natural aptitude for adventuring. This gradually began to create a rift between them, which would eventually explode during what was meant to be one final trip for the twins. Harsh words were said (words that she heavily regrets), and in the process Donald would leave on a trip to the moon to prove Della's words wrong, only to die in space. Unable to live at home in peace, Della would soon leave her home with the triplets eggs, choosing to live a somewhat isolated life away from adventures.
Out of all of the critiques I saw towards Sonic Prime, the weirdest one I saw was the one criticizing Rusty Rose for having a animal power source, citing it as bad writing since the real Amy loves animals.
Which... is really strange to critique about?
Things like the animation and how characters are portrayed? Understandable.
Things like how basic the alternate universe appear to be? I have my own thoughts on multiverses, but that critique is also understandable.
Having issues with the writers? I'm not well acquainted with the writers, so I can't say for sure if they have every right to dislike them, but it's fine so long as they aren't being rude about it.
But critiquing that a version of Amy Rose is using an animal as a power source, in a dystopian universe where technology is prevalant, while in the canon universe she has a love for nature, just feels pedantic.
It would be one thing if it was the main Amy Rose that was depicted this way, which in this case would be understandable as that goes against one of her notable character traits, but an alternate universe version of her not having that trait? The same version who is depicted with a mechanical body? I'm sorry, but I don't think that's a good critique to make this early on.
It's one of those things where I think it's better to wait and see how the show portrays Rusty Rose, as once we get a clearer picture of her origin then maybe we can get a better idea of if they actually made a simple but well executed variant of Amy or if they failed on the execution. Though with the 8 episode limit, we can't be too sure if we'll get more info.

A reoccurring place in the Duck Attorney AU
The Duckburg Cosmic Foundation serves as a reoccurring place within this AU, serving as a museum/spaceport in Duckburg. The place was funded at one point by Scrooge McDuck in return for materials for his own rockets. Once the accident occurred and Scrooge was finally dissuaded by the Buzzards to stop sending off rockets in search of Della, the remaining ones were given to the foundation.
Serpe Rishock, Age 35: A snake scientist who was murdered in the first case Donald pursued. He was working on a rocket for the UL-7 Voyage before his eventual demise.
Tellen Ascope, Age 46: A fox scientist who works at the foundation. He specializes in rocket durability, and serves as a witness in the final case of the first part of the trilogy.
Harriet Moon, Age 29: A rabbit astronaut who works at the foundation. A peppy and cheerful figure who ends up as a suspect before the blame was lead towards Gladstone. Was meant to go on the UL-7 launch.
Press Charger, Age 34: A duck astronaut who works at the foundation. Assists with janitorial duties as well. He is not easily deterred by fear and loves using the aerotrim as a passing hobby. Dislikes rich people.
Diana Safarer, Age 35: A duck astronaut who works at the foundation. Having suffered amnesia some years ago, Diana is very concerned about people's safety and often discourages people from going on risky ventures without the proper equipment. She ends up as a witness during the final case of the first part of the trilogy.
Jupiter Voyage, Age 57: The lion director of the foundation. Her death during the UL-7 launch would end up instigating a series of events that would lead to Donald defending Gladstone.
Solarus Stem, Age 62: An elderly retired duck astronaut who often reminisces of better days. Taught Diana everything there is to safety. Ends up taking over as the director following Jupiter's death
The place always serves a major part in the final case in each part of the trilogy, often playing a part in the McDuck lineage being drawn close to each other.
I love the trope of modern robot with a screen face who is super serious and very focused on their mission meets and forms a relationship with older model silly goofy robot who teaches them to relax and have fun

Presenting the second case, The Turnabout Cousins! - The Beginning and Basics
This is the first official case where Donald will be facing off against Gladstone. It starts off with Donald attempting to find a babysitter for his nephews, as the usual isn't available and his friends Jose and Panchito are out of the country for the moment.
Eventually, he is forced to leave his kids alone at the boathouse, and impresses upon them the importance of staying safe. Despite this, he could not help but get a sinking feeling as he leaves for his second case.
The case revolves around the famous racer Moe Whiplash being accused of murdering his fellow racer Tiara Damage. Initially, Donald wasn't interested in the case, but once heard who was prosecuting it, he immediately made the case his top priority.
The plot would mainly introduce the main elements that make up the Duck Attorney AU, such as the connection between Donald and Gladstone, reoccurring characters, and hints toward a larger conspiracy.
Tiara was killed at night at 2 AM, and was found at 6 AM slumped over inside her race car. She was bludgeoned to death, and the presumed murder weapon was a steering wheel,
Coming back to my Donald Duck as an Attorney post...
The idea for the first set of cases, and the plot of the first "game" of the trilogy I'm forming in my head revolves around Gladstone Gander being a Prosecutor.
He has this smug look on his face every time he proves the defense wrong.
His whole shtick is that he constantly refers to things with gambling terms, in particular Poker.
For example: "I'm calling your bluff, Defense. Your evidence is nothing more than a dead hand!"
"Unfortunately for you, I happen to have the winning hand here. A Royal Flush! Here to disprove your so-called theory."
"You made a bet on this testimony, and you made it poorly. Now, watch as I rake in the winnings!"
"It appears Lady Luck has made me the winner of this jackpot. You should have folded when you had the chance."
As a result, Gladstone comes off as very pretentious, but underneath that arrogance is a sharp mind that can pick apart details with ease.
He also at the time is obsessed with fate, and believe that whatever verdict awaits the defendant is "predestined". He goes as far as to call himself a "vessel for the Fates". This will be explained.
Donald becomes a Defense Attorney because one day while reading the newspaper, he sees that somehow Gladstone had becoming a successful prosecutor? And he's being referred to as the "Misfortune Prosecutor" due to the misfortune he brings upon his defendants? What???
And despite his rather complicated relationships with his family, Donald still is rather concerned with the unsavory rumors popping up around Gladstone. Of course, his natural idea in order to talk with Gladstone (after several rejected calls) is to become a Defense Attorney, because Donald is not as level-headed as he likes you to believe.
Also, he graduates via online classes, which Donald views as a godsend.
Listing the names of original characters in the first case of Duck Attorney, The Turnabout Misfortune!
Even though I'm probably going to skip over this case, I still wanted to share the name puns that I had come up with for these characters.
Maria Goldclaw, Age 32: The defendant of the case. Works at the Duckburg supermarket, and as a gardener. Has a soft spot for children. Her name is a pun on the marigold flower, and her species is a feline cat.
Serpe Rishock, Age 25: The victim of the case, poisoned then stabbed to death. A scientist who worked for the Duckburg Cosmic Foundation. Was viewed as uptight by the public. His name references the fact that he is a snake.
Wynan Payne, Age 33: The prosecutor of the case. Extremely rude. A bad example for children all around. His name is a play on the words "whine in pain", similar to Winston's "whine in pain" and Gaspen's "gasp in pain". Noticeably made fun of how Donald speaks, and was reprimanded by the judge for that. Thankfully makes little appearances outside of this case. Not well liked among the Prosecutors.
Bribo Robinson, Age 27: A journalist who believes in due process. Thinks highly of himself. Recently hired at the Duckburg supermarket. His name is a play on the words "bribe" and "robber", and he is the real killer of the case.
Felice Serspect, Age 41: A worker at the Green Leaf Warehouse who helped move boxes into trucks. A witness who claims to know the truth. Her name is a pun on "false suspect", her species a snake, and she is initially thought to be the killer as evidence is slowly revealed.
As part of the Duck Attorney AU, I have also decided to introduce one of the few legal Beagle Boys to exist: Barrister Beagle.
Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office, Duckburg Branch. Age 48. Typically wears a princely uniform, similar to Barok von Zieks, but colored red and black with streaks of white and yellow.
A cousin of the Beagle Boys who was orphaned at a young age, he was later adopted by a lawyer, and in the process became interested in the art of law. While he would face some trouble once his relations to the Beagle family was revealed, his quick wit and adept skills eventually would lead to him becoming the Chief Prosecutor.
He doesn't necessarily dislikes his family, but he does distance himself from them due to their criminal connections. This has not stopped them from calling him on as an Attorney, despite him specializing as a Prosecutor.
His name refers to a barrister, a type of lawyer who specialize in courtroom advocacy and litigation.
He is the mentor of Gladstone when he became a Prosecutor, and serves as sort of a father figure for Gladstone following Ludwig Von Drake's appearance.
Is unwilling to put up with Duckburg buffoonery. At all. His response to the insane events that goes on in the city is to shake his head and go "not this again".
Hates Wynan Payne, a recent Prosecutor connected to Gaspen Payne. Whenever Wynan enters the room, Barrister always comes up with a excuse to leave. Barrister Beagle wishes that it was Gaspen that had transferred instead of Wynan.
Has befriended a dragon once. No, he has no idea how either.
