I’ve been thinking a lot lately about a question that reveals a lot about a persons’s faith and relationship with God.
Is God big enough _____(fill in the blank)?
I am not referring to physical size when I state this question. Instead, I am referring to a person’s perception of God’s...
Every Sunday was a party and a reason to gather because of Martin! We wore what they wore, said the things they said, and did the same things they did....a TRUE cultural phenomenon! I miss shows like this....
dream team, dream show, renew it for five more seasons already!!
Arguably one of the best shows on television since ‘The Sopranos’, Boss has been cancelled. It wasn’t the acting, not the plot lines, not even money, but the time slot is what killed this show. Why on earth would the executive in charge of programming, put this in a Friday night time slot? It belonged on Sunday!!! It could have easily gone up against the weaker HBO series ‘Girls’—and killed!! It belongs on HBO anyway. Maybe some network will rescue it because it certainly deserves a 2nd chance.

PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE 2012 #2
Last night's debate was nothing short of AWESOME! There was intrique, action, talks of terrorism (or not), violence, comedy, and last but not least DRAMA. This debate will go down in history, and I'm glad that I watched. I must admit, that I'm not sure if I could ever watch again without my up to the minute Twitter and FB feeds weighing in on every misstep and zinger.
President Obama won this one, and I'm certain he'll win the next one.
A Country Showdown - Nashville
I knew it! I knew it! I knew it!! This show is a winner. Not only has it brought back 2 of NBC's TV darlings (Connie Britton, Friday Night Lights and Hayden Panettiere, Heroes) but its juuuiiiicccyyyy!
Out with the old and in with the new, even if its not so great!! This show pits a seasoned country star against the new kid in town! Throw in a few sex scenes, an unrequited love affair, a drug addict mother, new innocent love, a rich villainous father and the city of Nashville with all of it's history and I CAN'T WAIT to see the next episode.
BROKEN LIGHTBULB
As a producer, there are many ideas that I have and I have shared with friends and family, and I swear that a network executive has my house bugged. I call this the "Broken Lightbulb" . I should be discouraged, but this encourages me to know that I have what it takes to make a hit TV show, but all I need is the right opportunity.
About a year ago I saw "Country Strong" with Gwenethy Paltrow and I immediately said that it would be great for a TV show. Now look....NASHVILLE!
Jaw Dropping Good
Last week's episode of Boss was nothing short of epic. The writer's through everything in but the kitchen sink. Mayor Tom Kane (Kelsey Grammer) proves once again why he is Boss! He will never lose at his own game. Just when you thought they had him by the balls, he cooks up a new deal that took the city out of debt, made the old Lenox Gardens a thing of the past, killed the Gubernatorial candidates girlfriend, and fired his Black girl crush (Sanaa Lathan) for being to naive.
On the other side of town, T.I got bumped back down to water-boy from ward boss which left him angry enough to put a hit out on his predecessor. Emma's told her new boy toy, (her brother), about Mayor Kane's brain disease.
I know that the season finale is this week, but I would have preferred them to give us more episodes, than to cram all of this action into one episode. But, don't get me wrong, I'm on the edge of my seat and my DVR is already set.
I love that Kanye feels he is a protector of culture but mostly I love that he calls himself a 'Creative'
I don't know who could have shot this with their phone from such a high angle, but I have my guesses.
Me and Mariah go Together Like Babies and Pacifiers
#TEAMMARIAH
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of working on American Idol when they were here in Chicago and although I am contractually bound to refrain from saying much more than this, there is one thing I do know:
Nicki Minaj better BACK OFF!
I found Mariah Carey to be one of the most approachable and down to Earth celebrities that I have ever been in the company of. We talked, we laughed and she allowed me to have my fantasy of drinking wine and swapping recipes to go on without a wrinkle. I'm so sad that someone would treat her this way--->THE NERVE!
Mariah was NOT the one acting like a diva, although if she wanted to, there would have been no objection by anyone around. She is royalty, a pop culture Queen! She and her staff were a delight to work with, and of course if she asked me to go on the road with them, I would load up the freezer with frozen dinners and kiss my family Good-Bye! After a long day of shooting, Mariah had her driver stop so that she could take the time to interact with her fans. A CLASS ACT.
As far as Minaj goes....I would certainly get in trouble if I discussed those details here. All I have to say is, when you are secure in your talent, you don't need to rely on gimmicks or on how loud you can can talk over your co-star. This display should be embarrassing for her as an artist, but even more so as a Black Woman. Get your ego in tact, Ms. Minaj, because instead of trying to outshine a legend she needs to be taking notes and soaking up every sentence that Mariah speaks.

A Preface for my Christ Family
Recently, I had the chance to read an article in XXL Magazine, which had the potential to excite me because it focused on Christian rap, but in the end somewhat disappointed and...
Ambassador, I applaud you. When some things go on in the Christian Hip Hop community, I sometimes wish that I could pick up my camera and immediately come to find out what you think about it. Because of your music, articles and sermons, I miss hearing your constant voice on 'popular issues'. I'm glad that this has grieved you and I hope many more things will so that we can hear from you. Thanks.
Right Now I'm Washing Lettuce....
Before you say anything, YES I know this is a movie quote and this is a TV Blog! Louie Anderson famously said this in "Coming to America" and he was referring to his rise up the corporate ladder. Well that is exactly what I intend to do and one of the first stops on this train to glory starts with this Tumblr. blog. A blog about all things TV and Pop Culture, because I am an EXPERT in these areas.
YES I HAVE CREDENTIALS
At first glance my credentials may not seem like much but they quite valuable. I'm counting the road that I took to get here AND all of the obstacles along the way. Like many others, the sudden loss of a loved one (my father) prompted me to go back to school to pursue my dream--->To become a TV Producer! A year and a half ago I received my degree in Television Directing from Columbia College Chicago so in my mind, not only do I know everything about television but I have the degree to prove it. (I hope you're smiling because this was meant to be funny)
ARMCHAIR PRODUCER
Unlike most of my school peers, I was unable to load up the wagon and move to Beverly...Hills that is. I have a full fledge family: A hubby, 1 College girl, 1 High School girl, and 1 grade school son! Yes they are holding me back from my destiny, so I torture them with commentary on everything that comes on TV (Shout out to the pause button on my DVR)!
I WORK TOO!
I have to attempt to pay the bills! I produce and direct Indie projects all around the country but I'm based in Chicago. I have a producing partner, AJ Michael who is a genius and all around great guy. Music videos, web commercials, web series etc.... I'm waiting on my big break. When the big boys come to town I sometimes get the chance to work with them as a peon, and I love it. The first time I ever set foot on a Hollywood set, Robert De Niro was the star. On set he and I became fast friends and I just KNEW my career was being jet propelled to greatness. Two years later, that movie was a flop and I am sitting at my dining room table 'talking' to you.
Overall, I think I'm good at what I do or at least that's what people tell me. I have an opinion about most things on TV and in our pop culture so this is why I created this blog. I love bringing people together to laugh or cry, think or debate. My prayer is that you take this ride with me--->I promise it'll be fun!
