noah asked taylor to say what she thought mel might be interested in and she said history and noah then went ahead and put that in the episode he wrote and gave the same interest to langdon. i think he does like them but he doesn't want to give anything away because langdon's still married as far as we know.

do you think kingdon will actually go canon down the line? at least in an implied ambiguous kinda way? just as i got over pball's "we are not a romance show" there came taylor with "they have the potential for attraction but just aren't"

it would be amazeballs. for me. because I'm biased and I love them.

but I also fear Kingdon may just be a happy accident that Noah Wyle and the Pitt writers have no intention to make real. Kingdon seems to be character-driven via acting choices, not plot-driven by the writers. It seems Noah Wyle only grants his character front-and-center canon (tragic) love stories. Collins in S1, Naomi in S2. These women show him so much warmth, even when he doesn't deserve it. There is 0 ambiguity about who Robby is dating or has feelings for. That is plot-driven. That is intentionally written. 0 eyebrow-raising acting choices needed, no hints or ambiguity.

Meanwhile, Javadi and Mateo completely fizzled out. McKay got to flirt with a patient in S2 but it doesn't seem like that's going anywhere? Mel got flirted with by a patient, enjoyed it, and then he smacked her to the ground. Santos and Garcia are confirmed canon, but it's clearly not going well. Whitaker's thing with the widow on the farm is ambiguous. Warmth tho? Romantic, confirmed warmth? Nope not much happening for them either. They're a joke to Trinity and a weird/concerning thing to Robby.

There is no genuine plot-driven warmth given to anyone else's romantic prospects. Only Robby's.

There is however character-driven warmth between Mel and Langdon, but so far that feels fueled by tdeardz's and pball's acting choices. So yeah I agree with tdeardz the potential is there! And I agree they probably won't, not because "they're friends they shouldn't" but because this is A Serious Medical Drama (in which Only Robby can have Serious Love Interests).

I HOPE the writers take it and run with it. I hope they're sprinting in the writer's room as we speak, weaving an earth-shatteringly genius slow burn will-they-won't-they canon kingdon arc right now. Genuinely I hope so.

there's new pball discourse every 2 weeks so I hope my answer is what you're seeking 😭🙏 (for example there was pball hair transplant discourse on twitter for a hot second. I have no opinions on that bc I Don't Care.)

not discourse! I'm just a disgusting Kingdon shipper riffing on how in an interview a couple months (weeks?) ago pball said Langdon is happily married. But a new interview came out and now he's done a 180. (As any actor who's signed an NDA should lol. we don't want leaks but we do like these lowkey hints at character motive updates!)

So to recap, first he says this:

but then in this interview from Deadline that just came out, pBall says "you get hints in Season 1 that there's been a lot of tension within [Langdon's] household." And how his wife and kids see him as a "loser."

At the end of the interview, in the context of how this show is much different than other medical dramas, he says "we're not going to have romantic storylines"

So yeah considering the "happily married" 180, me and the kingdons are like lol whatever buddy #kingdon4eva
