You look up from your desk and a smile tugs your lips upward instantly. It's Karkat! Not your Karkat, that is something you're genuinely certain of, but it's your best friend all the same. Part of you had doubted he would even really show up, which made his presence twice as enjoyable now that he had!

Giving him a look over a few times helps confirm he's not yours, and that makes you almost sad. You're not a master of all these alternate timelines and double-selves really, and you've never pretended to be, but you know what's yours and what's not, and he's not. He's Karkat, but you're a little disappointed anyway. He looks... different somehow, a thing you can't really put a finger on.
