It's been a few days now since I last ran into Billy at the high school reunion, that was such a great night. We caught up on what was happening in our lives and even renominated about the past.
And since that night we've been hanging out practically everyday, even call eachother. Feels like the good ole days, when things were simpler.
And today Billy has a little surprise for me, he won't tell me much besides just wear something casual and to meet him at his house. So that's where I'm at now, dressed in a pair of jeans with converse and a simple t-shirt and jacket, on my way to his house.

Even though no one lived in this house anymore I still kept myself in my old room. The more days I had in this place the more I remembered the old days. More bad than good unfortunately.
I sprayed on cologne as my final touches when I heard the doorbell.
“Hey sweetheart.” I smiled to Rhi as I welcomed her inside.
"Hey, Billy." I smile as I walk into the formilar house. It looked almost the same but yet it looked different. I know this place didn't hold many good memories for Billy, but it did hold a very few of our memories, ones I hope he still thought of.
"So what's the surprise?" I ask, pushing a piece of stray hair behind my ear.
“If I tell you...than it isn’t a surprise now is it?” I smirked. “Well this isn’t part of the surprise but I decided to keep the house. I’m going to do everything I can to remove the ghosts in here. This house doesn’t deserve it.” I glanced around the empty house. In a twisted way this house was my home. I’m still attached to it. It’s those very few good memories I had that overpowered the millions of bad ones.
"I guess you're right." I sigh a little, feeling anxious about what he has in store for today. "But you know I don't care much for surprises." I smile as I look around the house. "If you want any help with anything I'll be happy to help you. Maybe we can paint it or something?" I suggest as I walk around the living room, simple thoughts of Billy and I snuggled up on the couch before Neil got home from work crossed my mind, how close we would be to one another talking about anything and nothing. It's the simple memories that will always be my favorite.
“I’ll take you on that offer.” I chuckled. God knows this house needs a lot of work. “Hey well let’s get going.” I grabbed the keys off the wall and motioned Rhi to follow me outside.
I walked over to the passenger side and opened the door for Rhi as I slapped her ass lightly smiling as she let out a small Yelp. It reminded me of our school days.
"Billy!" I yelped, glancing over my shoulder at the handsome man behind me, a smirk playing on my lips as I turned on my heels to face him. I threaded my fingers through the collar of his denim jacket like I use to back in the day. Usually I would press a steamy hot kiss on his lips.
My eyes bounced between his lips and eyes, I so desperately wanted to kiss him, taste him once more. But I wasn't going to play easy to get. "Come on pretty boy, we have somewhere to be." I hummed turning back to climb into the Camero.
The Camaro took a left turn as we speeded down the road with the windows down. In my peripherals I watched as Rhi’s hair danced around her. The weather was perfect for the surprise I had in store.
“Penny for your thoughts?” I could always tell when Rhi was lost in herself.
I turn my attention to Billy, "I'm just happy. I haven't been truly happy in a really long time. I kind of forgot how good it feels." I smile as I turn my attention back to the window, watching the trees pass us by as Billy crused down the road.
How great it felt to feel myself again.
My right hand reached over as I intertwined our fingers together. The faint sound of Thin Lizzy coming out of the speakers and the nostalgic feeling I got from this exact moment.
I drove down to the lake to our old spot. I haven’t been back here in years but it seemed like we were here yesterday. “This place still looks the same, huh?” I killed the engine off as we got out of the car, I headed to the trunk to retrieve a picnic basket I had stashed there before Rhi came over.
I climbed out of the car and looked around the formilar area. "Wow... it does." I smile as I intertwine my fingers between Billy's, I look down at the picnic basket. "You know you didn't have to do this." I hum, as I press a sweet kiss to his cheek. "But I'm glad you did." I whisper in his ear, as I follow his lead down to our usual spot by the big oak tree.
I unfold a blacket and placed it on the ground, I take a seat beside Billy on the soft blanket and begin to help him unpack the picnic basket. It was filled with all our favorites. "I can't believe you still remember all my favorite goodies." I smile as I open a bag of cool ranch doritos.
“How can I forget? Besides I love cool ranch.” I laughed as I got each of us some food on a paper plate. “Sorry, I left my fine China back in California.” I teased.
