Stimblr Gif-Sourcing Blog Mod Application

Following the overwhelming results of this poll, I've decided to finally follow through with the idea of making a blog with the purpose of sourcing stim gifs, encouraging others to do the same, making guides on finding and sourcing gifs, and attempting to tackle the rampant credit-less reposting of stim gifs in the community.

But I can't do this alone. I'll need the help of at least three other moderators to run this blog, and I know I'm not the only one interested in making this happen. I've created a short form to fill to gauge interest and help in selecting moderators and will be taking responses over the next few days.

Hey LGBTQ+ Floridians— now’s the time to take control of your medical records. I would highly recommend scrubbing your medical records of any sensitive gender/sexuality demographic info if at all possible. I know that cannot be the case for everyone. But unfortunately, if you’ve still got a foot in the closet, you should keep it there when you get healthcare. It’s now legal for any healthcare provider in Florida to discriminate against you and deny you care.

Read up on HIPAA and medical privacy. Be very careful with what you put on the record in larger medical institutions. Most likely they use a consolidated, cloud-based electronic health record software (like Epic) that easily shares your medical data with other clinics. Contact your clinic’s Health Information Management/medical records department to get a copy of all of your records. Revoke any blanket authorization to share your records. Read the fine print on every document you sign at your health clinics. Only release your medical records to healthcare providers and friends/family you trust.

DO NOT use healthcare apps (like BetterHelp, period trackers, etc.) as that data is NOT under the protection of HIPAA and can be sold to anyone. Do not even use the app from your healthcare provider. Despite being HIPAA-compliant, 70% of healthcare apps have security vulnerabilities.

It’s time to go back to basics for our own safety. Keep paper records. Don’t use apps for convenience’s sake. Stay safe.

The Etsy strike is to protest the recent increase in fees. Etsy has announced record profits but still increased fees by 30% and have over the last few years been making the site inhospitable to small creators.

Please help support this strike by not buying anything from Etsy during the week of April 11th.

ETSY STRIKE INFO

I know it’s not my normal content but I’ve shared things about my Etsy shop on here before so I wanted to post about the Etsy strike going on from April 11-18.

We are striking because Etsy has continued to increase fees for shop owners and are increasing their transaction fee from 5% to 6.5%. Myself and many of my fellow shop owners are using Etsy as a primary source of income and this increase would mean we would make even less than we already do.

On top of transaction fees etsy takes .20 per listing posted, .20 to auto-renew a listing (which happens every three months or so), and a payment fee of 3% + .25 per sale.

We are making more demands of Etsy like ending the star seller program, cracking down on resellers, and removing roadblocks between shop owners and their earnings (including their infamously shitty shop support system). Please do more research on your own and educate yourself about the demands and issues in this matter.

I will be participating and putting my shop in vacation mode and we ask that you don’t purchase from Etsy during that time.

Obviously not everyone will be able to participate in the strike but we ask that you support those striking and not purchase on Etsy during those days. If you would like to buy from an Etsy seller during that time contact them directly.

Give your money to artists not corporations.
