QUIZ UPDATE

Please note that the venue for Quiz is Exam Hall 4. Time: 2:00- 3:00 pm

For VIVA, PBMERU Research Lab, E4- level4. Time: 3:00- 4:45 pm

For the quiz:

Plant Tissue culture and Animal Cell culture:

You should know reagents, media preparation, equipments, calculations and discussion.

For Bio-process Part:

Please read thoroughly the procedures, calculations, mechanism and concept of each experiment.

For water Quality Part:

You do not need to remember the procedure but you have to know why each step was done. For example, the function of calibration of BOD meter and so on.

Calculations and discussion. Kindly ensure that your calculation in your report is correct.

Whatever discussed in the class can be a question topic.

Class update

Dear biotech lab students,

Please be informed that our classes will be scheduled as follows:

Section 1 & 2, November 11, Tuesday: Determination of organics and nutrients (BOD, TP and TN).

Section 1 & 2, November 20, Thursday: Determination of physical parameters (TSS, VSS, TDS and Turbidity).

Section 1 & 2, November 27, Thursday: Mini project (Collection of water samples from various locations in the IIUM Gombak Campus, conducts experiments, analyze the results, compare with standards and report writing).

We will discuss the quiz/viva later during the class.

High Pressure Homogenizer

Bio-Process session

Dear students of biotech lab IV,

Welcome back. I hope you enjoyed your mid-break and had a good time with your families… Eid Mubarak to all of you. Now, we would need to high spirit and your full charged status to complete this week session. Bioreactor fermentation will take approximately 8 hours (2:00 pm- 10:00pm). You might finish a bit earlier depending on how active you are.

Venue: E5- bio process lab, level 4 Tuesday: 14/10/2014- section 1 Thursday: 16/10/2014- section 2 Kindly read your lab manual and take a look even 10 min before the class to have a good understanding of the experiment.

Welcome to the first session in this semester (Sem 1/ 2014/2015). We hope you all enjoyed your vacation and ready to learn and practice new techniques which will of course give you some ideas for your project later on...

Here comes to the end. You did well although some of you have to catch up fast and be more serious.

Kindly collect all your reports by Wednesday 14 May ( 10 am - 5 pm) in front of Research Lab for your quiz preparation.

Submission of Final Report: May 30, 5:00 pm, Research lab and Email the soft copy for your lecturer record ( For your benefits, percentage of Plagiarism will be checked).

The quiz and the VIVA have been decided as follows:
