EDIT: Just so you guys know, Good&Co is actually a really great app/company. They helped me figure out my interests and get placed with a job that I actually like. I erased my culture because I was made to feel ashamed of it. I assimilated. Really hard. And now, I'm learning, all of that was for nothing because I'm still looked at as a second class citizen, and while I don't see this as often as people less privileged than I, it comes up once in a while and it is the most isolating feeling.

Not to mention when you spend time and emotional labour educating them and they STILL gaslight you and make you out to be a villain.

Privileged, rich white people will come to you, knowing who you are as a person, deliberately instigate you, then when you call them out, they get offended, even though they could easily just listen, understand, and go back to their six figure jobs and happy lives with no change. Meanwhile, I’m here like questioning my worth as a human being and feeling like shit because yet another white man (this time someone I have to see often) tried to convince me that maybe Trump isn’t so bad. Because him denouncing my entire race isn’t so bad to them, because you know, they’re white and it doesn’t affect them.

You go back to your life of comfort while I can barely travel in the states, am looked at as a second class citizen because of my skin - and I’m light skinned. Maybe I’ve assimilated too much that people almost see me as white, but the reality remains that I’m not.
