ANYWAY i made the sid x youre on your own kid vid
was searching my old notebooks for something else entirely and discovered this gem of a fr brown fic idea
i rlly hope father brown commit to their bit about having the weirdest timeline ever and make sullivan and isabel celebrate a one year wedding anniversary at the same time as clearly stating it is still 1955
jjfc fic got its first kudo
been rereading Strangers on a Train for the writer sullivan fic (i reference it a few times as one of sullivans fave books. not projecting at all haha..) and im like 100 pages in and am now like ugh i wish i was annotating . i forgot how crazy they are . brunos actually a really interesting (and seriously messed up) character who is pitifully obsessed with a man . bro goes to haiti and is like. Sigh. every moment i am further away from Guy Haines 😔
there's also some line like "every telephone is a reminder of Guy"
duuuuude stand tf up 😭
there's also weird suggestions and implications of incestuous feelings towards his own mother . like she's the only woman he actually likes. completely forgot all that. he's a freak !
at some point The Character stops being a character and starts being a close personal friend
Who is your favourite Father Brown secondary character? THE FINAL
Sister Boniface
Marianne Delacroix
Harold "Blind 'Arry" Slow
Violet Goodfellow
Father Lindsey
Uncle Mirth
Valerie Mallory
Here's the final poll! I had planned on including the three characters who had gotten the most votes in each of the two preliminary polls; since poll two had two characters with the same number of votes in third place, I thought it was fair to include them both in the final.

Explain in the tag (other characters are being listed in another poll!)
Thank you @bisidneycarter @evilsausageflavouredpretzel @kembleford1953 for the help! Part 1 is here!
inspired by this post by @bisidneycarter, i am here with my headcanon about sullivan supporting gloucester city 👀
tbh i actually have multiple hcs about this, but the main one is that his father sent him to boarding school in the area. maybe it was sir kingsley (from quill of osric) who recommended the school to walter, with an assurance that it would instill Discipline and a Strong Work Ethic in his son. that “they won’t stand for any of the boy’s nonsense” (aka autism and trauma).
sullivan being seen as The Weird Kid™ at school, and being pretty severely bullied for it by his peers. trying to fit in by talking about football and cars and cricket, even supporting gloucester city because quite a few of his classmates were from around there. ending up hyperfixating on it, some irrational part of his brain telling him that if he just learnt more about the club and its history and the players and everything else, the other boys might be nicer to him. (they were not. but sometimes when he talked about it with them, there was a brief little moment where he felt like he almost belonged.)
him finding himself wishing he was back in the london townhouse he’d longed to escape all his life. missing his mum, and being so painfully worried about her having to deal with his father on her own. coming to resent the school, then the general area, then the countryside as a whole, because everything was a reminder of the bullying and the anxiety and the aching loneliness he had to carry with him every day.
blocking the whole ordeal out of his memory afterwards, until all that remained was his love of cricket, his support for gloucester city, and the certainty that he never wants to leave london again.
which episode is it where fr brown mentions football to sullivan :( i cba to find it
IT WAS GLOUCESTER CITY??! WHY WOULD SULLIVAN GAF ABT THEM

jack deam in the episode of classic doctors we're watching 🤭
really trying to hold onto my renewed father brown hyperfix energy so i can finally finish the writer sullivan fic and then Jamie Johnson FC is like SURPRISE new season in MAY instead of October. two weeks time :) SURPRISEEE
yeahhhh soooo jamie johnson fc is currently taking over my brain
Also, I can't believe Sullivan said that to his wife?! As if he doesn't know Father Brown is her friend and him having to leave would totally break her heart?!
'This could be a good thing.' YES, FOR YOU, YOU HEARTLESS IDIOT!
I swear, I don't know what the writers are drinking but seriously, you need to stop making Sullivan as bad or probably potentially even worse then his dad?!
its a conflict that desperately needed addressing but NOT ONCE THEYRE ALREADY MARRIED
To be fair, the writers couldn't write a couple falling in love, I dont think we can expect them to also write a couple that over comes a disagreement reasonably.

is it ever explained if Sullivan's Auntie Pat is from his mother or father's side of the family?
