Do you have any resources for Danish Pronunciation?

No particular website, but I have a SoundCloud where I upload all the pronunciations.

Hi! If it's not too much trouble, could you recommend some danish-language songs or music groups?

There’s a song called “For Evigt” by Volbeat, which is partly danish and english. We also have Rasmus Seebach, who has very simple Danish lyrics. I can definitely recommend.

Så, jeg hørte at i nogle danske dialekter, taler folk uden stød. Er det alright hvis glemmer jeg at bruge stødet når jeg snakker? Mange tak!

De fleste danskere bruger stød automatisk. Det ligger ligesom i blodet.Det er helt fint hvis du glemmer det, men hvis du vil lyde som en indfødt dansker, så ville jeg anbefale at bruge stød :)

Sorry

Sooo, as many of you probably know, I said I’d be back next week with more vocabulary cards and posts. However I’ve been extremely busy, and sometimes even just forgotten.

I currently have my final exams coming up as I’m leaving high school this year, and I’ve been really busy with reading up and doing my homework, so I haven’t really been able to post anything. When I did want to post something, I must have forgotten to do so, and then thought “hey, I’ll do it tomorrow.” and we all know where that leads to.

So long story short, I’m really sorry I’ve been inactive for a month, and I PROMISE that this time, I will be back soon. Very soon.

So I heard that in some dialects people don't use the stød. If I forget to use the stød when I speak will it be extremely noticeable?

Well yes, it would. For us danes, the stød comes naturally, and it is very noticable if you don’t stop or keep going with the word that either has or doesn’t have stød. For example, if you said “hej” which means hello, and you use stød, it would sound more like “haj” which means shark. So, yes, it would be noticable.

It’s really hard to figure out when to use it and when not to, it comes very naturally when you’ve spoken danish your whole life. My English friend pointed me in the direction of this video which he says is how he got the hang of it.

Is there a way to know when you posted something new. I'm an a novice to Tumbler. Any help suggestions be greatful

On the app: When you’re on a blog’s page, you should be able to tap the little person icon in the top right. It will bring up a list and you should be able to select “Get Notifications” which should alert you to any new posts! 

On the blog: While you’re on the home page of a blog, in the top right (assuming you’re already following the person) you should see a little button with a lightning bolt beside it that says “Get Notifications” If you don’t see the button, you have to make sure you’re following them first! :3

Hey guys! For some of you guys, half-year exams will be just around the corner, or maybe they’ve been these past few weeks. For me, it’s been the past two weeks, so that’s why I haven’t been posting, and I’m so terribly sorry for my absence. Like Elle, I’ve been working on group projects the past two weeks, but I’m wrapping them up just now.
