Low and high sounds
Now, I know the title sounds weird but trust me, this is an easy way to cheat the system if you want to learn how to make words in hungarian
We have these things we put at the end of words, making new words from them, such as
-ban, -ben = in (something), inside (something)
-on, -en, -ön = on (something)
if you don't know which one to use, you only need to remember two hungarian words
autó (car) a á u ú o ó -> the are low sounds
teniszütő (tenis racket) e é i í ü ű ö ő -> these are high sounds
it's called high or low sounds based on where you make the sound in your throat
so for the letters i wrote down, you use the one that matches the sound you make
such as
inside the car - az autóban
inside the building - az épületben (building = épület)
Another example
az asztalon = on the table (table = asztal)
a széken = on the chair (chair = szék)
a földön = on the ground (ground = föld)
you match the sound to the correct one
