Stranger Things Season 2 Ending Rant

I honestly was pretty miffed that the end of the last episode was a dance full of forced angsty stares and not just all of them having a fun DnD sesh at Hopper’s cabin. I wanted to see them let El be the mage and Max be the zoomer. I wanted cute, awkward glances between Mike/El and Lucas/Max, maybe some under the table hand-holding. El and Max talking to each other, becoming friends, realizing they’re not in competition for the boy’s attention (honestly, whose storyline idea was that anyway???). I wanted to see Dustin with his snacks, relaxed, being himself, full of smiles and banter. Will having an overwhelmingly good time, getting his hair ruffled and his gameplay hyped up by all his friends. Joyce and Hopper hanging out in the corner with Nancy, Jonathan, and Steve cause none of them can let the kids out of their sight, but everyone laughing. Having fun.

But, you know. A weird dance with forced kisses between child actors, Dustin being cruelly rejected left and right, Will dancing with a girl who called him Zombie Boy (and Mike cosigning it???) and Hopper putting moves on Joyce after her boyfriend was eaten in front of her…sure that’s cool too.
