I can't get MSC nor any of these sealants: Testors Dullcote, Games Workshop Purity Seal Satin, Zoukeimura Finishing PowderGunze, Mr. Topcoat. Would Winsor and Newton work?

Honestly I didn’t even know W&N made a sealant. So I really don’t know if it’s resin safe or not.

Are you in an area that you can’t find any of the above locally because Junkyspot.com carries MSC, both non UV and UV cut varieties http://junkyspot.com/obindex.html

If it’s a shipping to your location issue, im not really sure what else would be suitable in a can spray form. I’d suggest airbrush mediums but thats a larger start up investment just to spray a head or two than a single can of something.

Do any of my followers know if any of windsor & newton varnishes/mediums are resin safe/have used them before.?

Hello, I hope this is still active in 2016. But I've decided to remake a BJD this time with correct measurements. I plan on making him 60cm in height and when I took note of the rest of his measurments from a BJD measurements chart online, it says that his head is to be 9-10 inches and when I draw it out it seems way too big for a 60cm doll. When I look at picturea and videos on size comparisons their heads don't seem as big as 9-10 inches, 9-10cm maybe? But wigs are 9-10 inches. So confused.

Hi anon!

For your doll I’d suggest sculpting what feels right for what ever level of realism you’re aiming for and then take your wig measurments after! Some dolls have larger heads in proportion to their bodies some are closer to what would be proportionally accurate.

To clarify wig measurments: A 9-10inch wig should fit a 22.86 to 25.40 CM head circumfrence.(9 inches is 22.86CM and 10inches is 25.40CM)

For example, the Feeple60 head I have measures 23CM even so that would have it fall in the 9-10 range (I have a 9-10 wig on her so I can confirm this)
