Do you love the women of Criminal Minds? Are you desperately searching for CM Femslash? Fear not! You have come to the right place.
I write a LOT of femslash in the CM fandom (w00t4ewan on AO3) and I also created @queerminal-minds. This tumblr blog has served as a CM femslash archive (of sorts) for over a decade, I have thousands of CM posts saved within a well organised tagging system.
Whether you ship Jemily, Temily, Jara, or Tebecca, I've got just what you need. I’ll do the hard work for you and just put all my links in this post under the cut.
Enjoy! And long live our queer ships!! If you have questions or just want to scream about the women of CM my ask box is always open.
NOTE: FOR CURRENT SEASONS I TAG ANY PLOT SPOILERS WITH #CM SPOILERS (you can filter this out if you want to avoid them)
(These links probably won't work on mobile bc tumblr is nothing if not reliably shitty! To use this list on mobile, just go to my blog and search the tags)

Messer having a track record of extending a white male actor's role in evolution simply cause they impressed her is both concerning and racist since rarely do women and poc get this treatment (aside from Kirsten in s1 Aisha in s11). Zach was meant to stay in s16 only but now Voit has been a series regular in four seasons, same with RJ and Tyler Green and now Connor Storrie as Lance Kingston especially as he was supposed to be in one episode and killed off at the end only but is now planned to be in four episodes is s19. She couldn't let the women and poc shine in evolution and instead needs an army of pretty white boys to fill in the void left by Reid's absence
Anon, you literally took the words right out of my mouth. I JUST discussed all of this in my reply to this ask. (Not sure if you're the same anon from that ask)
Erica Messmaker has always been a fucking menace, especially when it comes to casting. This show has spent 21 freaking years celebrating mediocre white men, instead of their INCREDIBLY talented female cast members.
They FIRED AJ and Paget in S5 and didn't even have the spine to tell them to their faces. Paget found out she'd been fired via someone (NOT a showrunner) sending their condolences to her.
THEN. THEN!!!!!! The only reason the showrunners ended up begging them both to come back, was because we fans raised fucking hell about it !!!!
And like you pointed out, Aisha was only slated for 3 episodes to cover the end of AJ's maternity leave in S11. Aisha was the first (and currently, is still the ONLY) female actor to be promoted from a guest role to main cast.
After watching twenty-one years of Criminal Minds (fml 💀🧓🏼), ALL I want is for the showrunners to actually give a shit about women. You'd THINK with Messmaker heading up the show for soooooo damn long, that really wouldn't be such an impossible ask.... And Yet.
Its still infuriating Messer and the writers will come up with a bs excuse to not give us more tebecca scenes and especially a wedding scene yet has more effort in extending a white guy's role from one episode to four. Think about all that screentime tebecca could've had instead of the heated rivalry guy
Think about all the screentime they SHOULD have had that was instead focused on Voit being an MC for four fucking seasons 😒😒😒 HE'S A GODDAMN UNSUB!!!!! WHY is he still here???? Why is he the one getting screentime and building profiles with Emily, or whoever... Instead of us seeing more of the actual BAU MEMBERS.
Not only have we been robbed of Tebecca screentime, CME as a whole has constantly robbed us of screentime focusing on female characters, in general!!!!
When CME was announced, I was SO hyped, because for the first time in 16 years of Criminal Minds, we were going to see a 2:1 female to male ratio on the team.
I was so stupidly optimistic when Messmaker and all the cast members kept saying, "Evolution is going to really show who these characters are outside of the job. We're going to see much more of their personal lives!", in EVERY teaser interview prior to S16.
Turns out, what they really meant was, "We put Will in every episode of S16 because we don't know how to make JJ her own character without her husband." and "Uh, Rossi is the main focus and he is unhinged, bc we once again, killed the spouse of a BAU agent, since we don't know how to write character growth outside of trauma dumping on them."
By the end of S16, that beautiful, hopeful, 2:1 ratio between female and male MCs was already back to 1:1, because they chose to make Voit and Tyler main characters. 🙄🤔😒
They literally promoted Zach (Voit) to main cast before S16 finished airing, yet Nicole Pacent (Rebecca) is still just a 'guest' even though her character works closely with the team and she's now MARRIED to Tara.
Evolution would have been SO much better, if the show runners had chosen to genuinely focus on the BAU team members we already knew and loved, instead of making the entire reboot all about Voit. 🫠
Do I think it's coincidence that CME, which is the first time MGG wasn't playing the fandom's favourite Speciale Boy™, quickly turned into a series that solely focuses on the how's new conventionally attractive white dude? Nope, no I do not. I think that was the entire reason they promoted Zach.
Because, heaven forbid the showrunners actually have to write fleshed out characterisation of their female characters and their one male POC.
Tl;Dr - Tebecca deserves SO MUCH BETTER than this show has given them!!!!!!!
CME has never felt like it’s taken and treated tabecca seriously tbfh
from the moment they were first introduced it was great!! fantastic even!!! and then it almost like?? mocks their whole relationship and dumbs them (ESPECIALLY TARA) down?? she’s literally inattentive when interviewing a witness by texting her ex and then farting in an enclosed car with her as revenge?????????
and the resolution we get for them….. happens off screen…. And the wedding we get is…… off screen…… we hardly got any development of them actually ON screen
The only thing we get of them is a proposal and a sex scene that doesn’t do anything for the queer fans but tell us “shut the fuck up here you go we gave this to you damn” and also encourages more people to fetishize wlw
While I am forever grateful to have Tara as our first canonically queer MC, the way she and Rebecca's relationship has played out is infuriating.
Like you said, we've BARELY seen their relationship on-screen and what we have seen (especially in S17) was SO childish. These women are supposed to be in their 50s!,
Not to mention, the extremely fast-pace of their relationship only serves to re-enforce stereotypes. I mean, they literally U-Hauled at the start of S16, only to break up (without even having an actual conversation?!?) a few episodes later.
Not that Criminal Minds has ever believed in continuity, but following the canon timeline, they had only been together somewhere around seven months (a total of 9-10 months if counting their original dating period too) when Tara proposed.
JJ already had a 3 year old kid with Will before they ever tied the knot. But you're telling me I'm supposed to believe, Tara and Rebecca, who both have failed marriages in their past, went rushing back to the alter when they've been together LESS THAN A YEAR?? (And they've already broken up once before?!?)
Besides the timeline issues, why the hell did they give us that super wholesome proposal last season.... Only to skip the wedding entirely?! 🤔🙄 The show only gives us Tebecca breadcrumbs just to string us along, but they clearly never plan to fill our stomachs with anything actually substantial.
#i’ve had a number of students do their writing assignments in their phone’s Notes app#probably more than i’m aware of because i only find out about it when this results in tech problems they’re unable to navigate#i thought THAT was buckwild#but SCREENSHOTS of their phone is another level
This was screenshots of a notes app. For a research paper outline.
I help people at the library with assignments (and printing other important documents) all the time and you must understand that people simply don't understand that it is unprofessional or even why it would be. And the stakes out here are higher - if I had a dollar for every person I completely failed to convince that a screenshot of their resume is not the same thing as a file, I would be very rich.
I work at the IT help desk at a university and I have to agree with prev - especially since the majority of students are young people who have basically just hopped from high school (where things are likely much more structured and spellee out) to this next level of education where suddenly they have all this freedom and are often sort of expected to just figure it out (or even already know things). It's part of why I personally struggled so much during my first attempt at college. People won't know things if they aren't taught them.
Also fwiw I asked a couple of our student workers if they had ever done this or know anyone who has. They both said no and were very confused by the question. Not saying it doesn't happen since obviously this is an incredibly small sample size, but it does make me curious about why this might be prevalent in some places but not others.
@nerdfromtheburgh my classes in the fall are for incoming freshmen and one of the specific goals of the program I teach for is to help new students adjust to the very different environment of college. Part of that is teaching them "soft skills" like time management, how to email an instructor, how to set up file storage for your readings so you can find them later, how to use the library catalog, taking advantage of events on campus, etc.
However, the class I'm teaching right now is entirely online, and I think that's partly the issue of where this is coming from. Online school (for both students and instructors) tends to be much more loosey-goosey, and I get far more students phoning it in than in my 30 person small group classes in the fall.
I feel like to really get this circulating as it should, we need it superimposed over the picture of the turkey going in the fridge. (I can't do it I'm on my phone.)

I’ve previously talked about how mascs and studs often times get placed in the gender gray area when it comes to our interactions with cishet people. We’re seen as too masculine to be viewed as women up until people want to dehumanize and fetishize us by making extremely gross sexual remarks to “remind” us of our womanhood. This treatment extends to how we are treated when we show any form of emotion outside of stoicism, when we aren’t the most handy when it comes to physical tasks, and when we decide to make decisions regarding our reproductive health such as family planning with our girlfriends or wives. I’ve had moments in my life where I’ve questioned my masculinity because other people didn’t view me masculine enough to be considered a stud; this caused me so much internal frustration because I felt like I had to put out more masculine attributes to gain respect from people both inside and outside of the queer community. However, as I’ve gotten older, I realize that my presentation and attributes of masculinity are unique to me as an individual and I must surround myself with people who don’t question the validity of my expression. My only hope is that younger mascs and studs come to this same realization, queerness can have some growing pains but, it’s important that we don’t minimize our places within the world and to not look at our gender expression with the same harsh criticism that we often times receive from bigoted cishets. We deserve a mental and physical safe place to land and to be loved❤️
Soooooo is the cm social account going to post about tabecca for pride month or are they just going to post jemily again until they’re bullied into it???
For REALLLLLLL!!!!! Last year was SUCH a disaster.
I'd love to think the 20-somethings running the socials would have learned from that fiasco.... I guess not. At LEAST they posted that 'Tara Appreciation' video, but still.... Where's the post celebrating her relationship with her WIFE?!
Tara's the only canonically queer MC in 20+ years of this show and yet.... 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
I've just finished catching up on CM/CME and I noticed your profile picture in a reblog chain and was like HEY THATS TARA then I checked your profile and you seemed cool and so now I am following you :]

people don’t enjoy shipping anymore. the point of shipping isn’t the catharsis of watching them kiss onscreen, it’s grabbing the characters and mashing their faces together like you’re five years old playing Barbie in your room again. it’s to take one moment of eye contact in canon and read that over and over and over again with twenty different writers’ interpretations of the characters internal monologues if they were in love. it’s to see the characters interact and cheer because you know that’s another moment to add to your list of canon compliant fic ideas. you’re stressing yourself out, this is supposed to be fun!
