"W-Where am I? You.. You don't look like him..."

-> He lets go of Zuka's sleeve and backs away, looking frightened. He grabs his hair and tugs at it, squeezing his eyes shut and clicking in distress.

"Where am I..?? Where am I where am I where- W-Where-"

"Hey kiddo... Calm down, yeah? You're somewhere safe, okay? Ain't nothin' gonna happen to ya while you're here." -> He kneels down with a grunt, holding out his only arm to the small demon in front of him. He remembers when he first brought Rocket home and the little blue demon was scared. "It's okay. Come to me when you're ready, yeah? I ain't gonna hurt ya."

-> He opens his watery eyes and stares at Zuka. He suddenly hisses, his tail quivering.

"You left!! You left, you left me, I don't WANT to- t-to go to you, you FORGOT about me a-and you HATE me cause- Cause you left!!"

"I-I don't know why you look like that but- But you're HIM! I know it!! I hate you!!"

-> He stifles a sob by hissing louder, thrashing his tail in an attempt to look threatening.

-> Zuka goes silent at that and lowers his arm, letting it rest against his side. "I don't hate you, kiddo. I grew up and got injured. I had to leave." -> He gestures towards his missing arm. "Me leavin' doesn't have anything to do with you. I'm an old man now... My memory isn't the best anymore."

"I don't care!! You HATE me!! Didn't.. Didn't even say bye... Or.. O-Or tell me you were gonna go..."

"I hate you... Hate hate hate..."

"I couldn't, kiddo." -> He sighs. He felt stupid for arguing with a kid, he didn't even know why he was trying. "I was in hospital for god knows how long then I was discharged a couple days later. I didn't get to say goodbye to anyone I knew."

-> He doesn't reply. The small demon just covers his face with his sleeves, sniffling and hiccuping through his tears.

"M-Mm.."

"Come here, kiddo...." -> He gets up with a grunt and slowly moves towards the tiny demon, placing his hand atop of Subspace's head. "Let it out, kiddo. Okay? Don't hold your little tears back."

-> He hesitates before hurrying to Zuka, hugging him tightly and sobbing against his shirt.

"I'm sorry, I-I'm sorry, I don't- Hate you, I-I miss you, please.. Please don't go away... Don't leave me alone again.."

-> The shark wraps his arm around the little demon, carefully scooping him up into his hold. He carefully bounces the little one in his arm. "There there... Let it all out, kiddo. That's a good little guy..."

-> His tiny hands hold onto the shark as tight as the little demon could. He only starts calming down after several minutes of crying, finally relaxing a little as he rubs his eyes.

"Mmf.."

"Feelin' any better, kiddo? I betcha do now that you've gotten all of those tears out...." -> He goes over to the front counter of Da Shop, sitting down and placing the little demon onto his lap. He was lucky he wasn't open for business today.

"..Mhm..."

-> The little demon's voice sounds a lot smaller than it did before.

-> The older demon hums and gently ruffles Subspace's hair, smiling down at him. "You're so little, kiddo... How'd you even manage to get all the way here to my shop without nobody noticin' ya?"
