Adventure lived within her ribcage, a fluttering, kicking, alive thing that always sought an outlet, and so rarely did she allow herself the kind of indulgence that money alone could not buy. There was always a sense of LADEN EXPECTATION behind every action, every movement, that, embedded itself within the brand that she’s built for herself. The storied only child, of Jack Bing, well, only, once upon a time. With a little brother that she neither cared, nor dared to meet, she figured, she’s no longer the one that’s wanted or loved in the way that she’d been fighting for since the moment that she’d been born, a disappointment in the form called female, made woman. All he’d ever craved was a son worthy of his wit and fortune, and although she could bleed and give him all that he wanted, she’d always fail on a fundamental level that she’d never overcome.
Even things with Lucien strung, along the walkways of what he might approve of. None of this ever felt as if it were her, all of it, performative for an audience that she knew would come, the moment she LIFTED THE VEIL. They always did, commentary a norm, but the unsettled excitement that caught within her chest as Eunwoo whispers that which he’d held in for too long, made her remember what being alive might be like, all over again. “Costa Rica…” she’s been, for a project, for another save the world spiel. She doesn’t know what travel for pleasure tasted like, but she thinks, it might be the way he does, as she closes the gap with a grin that says he’s done well.
Lips bruising soft against his own, she’s fingers caught at the front of his jacket, New Year’s day, met, with the kiss that they haven’t expressed until now. But if they’re willing to escape, a bid for freedom, she thinks, why not take this through the whole nine yards? Costa Rica it was, her fingers combing through the darkness of his hair, she tests, WHAT FREEDOM CAN BE LIKE, a choice made for herself, and for nobody else.
eunwoo watched her reaction to his suggestion. he has never been out of the country nor had the thought about traveling himself. he thought maybe he’d never have the oppurtunity, so why day dream about such activities when he had more important things to forcus on like keeping himself afloat in life. he couldn’t believe that he’d finally be leaving the country to see the world. it never was in his vocabulary, but because of colette, it was possible.
but suddenly, the world around his melted away. traveling didn’t seem like such a big deal when colette’s lips pressed ever so gently against his because the world around them disappeared. not even the driver in the front seat existed in this alternative universe that she brought him to. he felt his heart stop and his hands clutched her’s against his chest. he had never experienced a kiss like this. this could be because he longed for it for so long. but it was worth the wait. he loved colette. he knew that months ago, but didn’t have the balls to say it until tonight. and he was glad he did.
“colette...” his whisper was soft against her lips, her fingers through his hair made him almost shiver. he slightly opened his mouth to form words but, thinking about kissing her again made him lose any thoughts he stored in his brain. it made him laugh. he was head over heels for her and she had this effect on him. it was pathetic, but it was nothing he could change. he pressed his forehead against her’s, his laughs laced with embarrassment. “happy new year’s...” he murmured to her between laughs before lifts his hand to her cheek, pulling her back into another kiss, just as soft as the one she gave him, but he tended to linger slowly against her lips.
