it’s still disrespecting an underrepresented group and trying to take their representation away from them. like there’s a tiny pool of lesbian characters and a huge pool of straight/unidentified characters to pull from. it should be a pretty simple choice.
when a marginalized group is actually given positive representation it’s really shitty to say “no, actually, i want that one for me.”
