“Maybe that a good thing~” Max teased in response to Takao saying he couldn’t even order a hamburger, giggling. He nods. “Yea, I’ll definitely have to teach you.” He states before shifting a bit so he was sitting up more.

"Aw c'mon!" Takao laughed, "Ya know a guy's gotta eat!" he couldn't help but feel more at ease near the other. "Hey Max... You sure you're doin' alright? I could call the nurse if you like."

“Don’t worry man, I’m not dying. I’ll heal up just fine, it’ll just take a bit. Kinda gross right now though, since I’m kinda draining and stuff.” Max replied, making a bit of a face at the whole draining situation. “I was actually planning on going back to Japan and staying with my dad for a while again, miss it there. Miss hanging with you every day.” He admits with a shrug.

“Yeah?” instantly Takao was beyond excited to think that Max might finally come home again, that alone made this long trip worth it. “Listen bro, eventually you gotta help me learn this silly language.” A laugh as he rubbed the back of his neck. “I can’t even ask for a freakin’ hamburger! But hey... I’m glad to hear you’re gonna be okay.”

Every so often a child is born in Blackthorne City, a child who is destined to be a dragon tamer. This generation a young boy was born with blue hair and inside of him seemed to be the stormy soul of a dragon.

Taken into the dragon's den he was strictly trained, he was taught how to be one with the dragons, taught the ways of an ancient people, taught the ways of how to be religious and how to respect the land and all creatures and people.

At the age of ten he was given his partner a beautiful and powerful Dratini that he took into his life as his link to the dragons. Now he's set out to find and learn all he can about all dragons.

Maybe he can be the new dragon master -- He's got a long line behind him to uphold to after all. Every great dragon tamer has a place in Blackthorne, Johto.

Max perks up from his spot on his hospital bed when he heard Tyson’s voice. He was hooked up to various machines and IVs, wearing a hospital gown, underneath his chest was bandaged with drainage tubes coming from the wound. “Heh, gee thanks man.” He teased. “Yea…It’s just kinda New York…. Things happen.” Max replied. “Oh man, guess I shoulda thought about that.” He giggles.

“Yeah. My English isn’t the best, bro.” he answered, sitting next to his best friend on the chair near the bed. “You gonna be okay though? All jokes aside, second you said you were in the hospital I was kinda scared. I’m not losing my best friend am I?” he asked, tilting his head a little bit. “You call getting shot as ‘things happen’? You need to come back to Japan where this kinda stuff doesn’t happen and so I can look out for you!”

Couple Days Later ----

“Dude you look terrible.” Great first thing to say into his friend’s hospital room. “So what happened? I mean I read New York City was dangerous, but what the --- hell...” He gazed at the boy before him, sighing some. “ By the way, in case you’re wondering... Took me forever to find this place, apparently I didn’t pronounce the name of your hospital right.”

Max couldn’t help but giggle slightly at Tyson’s response. “Yea…. I know. I’ll be here, no need to knock, just come on in.” He says.

“So don’t worry! Soon as the plan lands. I’ll be at your side. “ Thank the spirits for cell phones as he rushed for his room, some clothes and some blade parts, some tools. Tyson would come as prepared as possible. “Alright I’ll see you in a day or so. That flight is no joke, yeah?”

“Mister Dickinson knows which hospital I’m in, so you won’t have any trouble finding me. Just, try not to worry too much kay?” Max replied.

“Max, bro. The second you said ‘hospital’ you had to know I’d worry tons and tons about you, yeah? Don’t worry man, you’re not alone. I’ll be there quick as I can.”

Max took in a small breath, as much as his freshly operated on chest would let him. “I….I’ve been shot in the chest…. I’m in the hospital.” He says,

“I’ll call Mister Dickinson and be on the first flight out! You just hang on, I’m on my way, bro!” No way would he allow a family member to suffer alone!
