why- why- why won’t the world revolve around me?!
Xe looked around, but saw nothing but trees and a few, small woodland animals. Zenith sighed and bent down, picking up xyr spellbook. It was getting late anyway, and xe had to submit one last essay before xe was free and on break. Xe flipped open the worn book and slipped the two feathers in between pages of the book. Zenith pushed up xyr glasses up xyr nose and began heading back.
Wait. Wait, where was xe going. Pete isn’t done with xym yet! Pete glided from the branch to perch on xyr back, folding his wings and glamouring himself to become invisible. He really hoped it would work, considering some witches have Sight that allows them to see through illusions, or even better (worse for him) fair blood in them.
Zenith looked back down, the sunlight was starting to hurt xyr eyes. All of a sudden, xe saw another feather fall, and grabbed it. Xe couldn’t hear any birds nearby, and all of the birds had probably already migrated south for the winter. So what the Hell was dropping these feathers? Xe set the spell book on to the ground beside xem and stood up, trying to find the source of the feathers.
Shit, shit, abort, abort! He stretched out his wings, and flew to the highest branch of the tree, looking out through the leaves for another hiding spot. The only way was to either cross the clearing or go deeper into the forest, outside of his territory. Here goes nothing. He ran and lept out of the tree, spreading out his wings behind him and gliding across the clearing, right over the witch's head, trying to make it to the willow across the way.
Zenith frowned. Where did the squirrel go? Wherever it went, xe probably couldn’t get it back with out using a large amount of xyr energy. Xe sighed and slumped against the tree. It wasn’t fair at all. Xe wished that xe had someone who could help xem with spells and curses and things of the sort, but with everyone in xyr family dead, there was nothing xe could do but try, try, and try again. It was annoying and repetitive but if xe wanted to excel in witchcraft, it was what xe would have to do
Xe felt the light feather tickle xyr face as it fell. Zenith caught it in xyr hand and set the spellbook down next to xem, examining the feather. It resembled a bird’s wing. Xe looked up, but xyr sight was obscured by the sunlight’s glare on xyr sunglasses.
Thank god he put that glare there. He was almost caught- not that he’d let himself be caught that easily. He just likes living on the edge. Not much else to do if you aren’t. He giggled a bit, plucking off another feather and letting it fall gently.

Zenith was sitting against a tree in xyr favorite place right in the middle of the forest. The sun shining through the canopy of leaves was more than enough to let Zenith see the words written in the spellbook xyr was holding. Xe were attempting to get a particularly difficult spell down before night fell. But it was hard to do this. Spell casting wasn’t something that came easily to the witch. Zenith tried again and again, concentrating as hard as possible.
Just as xe thought xe fianlly understood how to cast it, the shuffle of leaves close by tore xyr mind away from the spell, accidentally making xem cast the wrong spell and made a nearby squirrel disappear. Shit.
Pete loved watching witches practice. He himself couldn’t cast spells, so there was a certain intrigue to it. Something he can’t do (one of few). As the witch cast xry spell, Pete shuffled his wings, pulling a particular feather out of his wing that had been itching him. He dropped the wing, aiming it at the witch’s head, trying to bother xem.
