You know, I honestly haven't seen many people around me who drink vodka (although I have a relative who is addicted to alcohol and drinks vodka, but that's not normal!!!)
Basically, it's beer, like, it's light, you won't get drunk from it quickly, there are many different flavors, etc. It is popular among all ages (except the very young ones of course). Vodka can mostly be seen on some holidays, as well as moonshine, rum, and so on. My aunt prefers to drink wine, my grandmother drinks only on holidays, and even then a little.(she is the head of the family after all!) My grandfather is a huge beer lover, and in principle, many men in my family love it. When I was little, in my time, as I remember, beer was not considered something particularly alcoholic, so I liked to sit with my grandfather and watch some documentaries, eating dried fish, of course first dipping it in beer.(In general, do such things even popular among foreigners and my comrades, eh? It just feels like I’m the only person, even in my circle of friends, who has had this experience..)
I myself adhere to the same thing as my grandmother. I don't drink, I just taste. And in general I'm picky about alcohol. I hate this bitter taste, I don't understand it, so sweeter types of alcohol are acceptable.(The champagne, if we're lucky, will be good!)
In general, eating(and other) habits are quite interesting to analyze.. For example, I can't eat soup without bread, while in other countries they drink it like tea! It's fascinating.
