My dear friends, netizens, and kpopjunkies, 2015 has been an interesting year. Where do I even begin?
Ok, they are not the only thing that happened this year (Trust and believe me!) but ITâS B.A.P.! Need I say more??? I Guess I do for some of you. But I will address them first. As an avid B.A.P. Stan, seeing them comeback on November 15, 2015 in a triumphant manner brought legit tears to my eyes. From their return to TS to today at the end of the year music festivals happening, I am swelling up with joy and bittersweetness over these 6 talented individuals who have defied the odds thrown at them since debut. Their music, stages, and even interviews are of high quality and the MATRIX album era is no exception from that professional quality they can only deliver. Thanks to the handy dandy V app (A highly recommended app for Novice, advanced, and those levels in between kpopjunkies) bin What is even better, they already have made plans to conquer 2016 with all they got stored up for us. I am more than (NOT) ready for their world domination. I love, admire, and am full of pride for these men dearly with every inch of my being(I say men because Zelo is now legally a man. WTF MAN?! HE GREW UP TOO FAST BRUH! TEARS!) Speaking of tears, I must say that I cried a lot this year over K-POP 2015 (Iâm a crybaby. Sue me.) There were so many remarkable performances, comebacks, and debuts that have âredeemedâ many of K-POPâs sins in the last few years. B.A.P. was one of them. Here were some more in case you missed out on them. The KINGS (Donât challenge me on this.) BIGBANG made 4 comebacks (yes, four comebacks) that were done in a way that was never done before as far as K-POP artists go. They owned the summer with their MADE series albums, World tour, and T.O.P. with an instagram(NOBODY was ready for it. Nobody.). It was a reminder to those that BIGBANG are KINGS of the pride called K-POP! Even more royalty decided to grace us if BIGBANG wasnât enough. SHINee came though with their fourth full album (and a repackaged version) being their âODDâ yet dynamic selves. From the comebacks of GOT7, VIXX, EXO, TEEN TOP and more to the EPIC debuts of SEVENTEEN, UP10TION, MONSTA X, IKON and more, 2015 brought us alot of promising acts for the 2016 year! BUT, Whatâs a kingdom without queens? This year was girl power to the max. We got âCrazyâ with 4Minute. Went âDumb Dumbâ for Red Velvet. Shook things up with SISTAR. We were bound by the â4 wallsâ of F(x) (who FINALLY got their recognition). It was a year for the single (solo) ladies. From Taeyon to HyunA, the ladies were strutting their stuff. Ailee was a hot topic for the solo ladies. While on the flipside, Lee Michelle proved as she always had, that she â(I) CAN SINGâ. Back to girl groups, WONDERGIRLS took it back to the 80âs with REBOOT while SNSD gave us 50s doo wop aesthetics with Lionheart. MAMAMOO made me go âUm ah oh yeahâ ALL YEAR. Jessi kept it sexy while Cheetah kept her â(My) Numberâ from us, but gave us a hit to rock to. Last but not least, CL (My Bae) gave a shout out to all of the Bi+ches that put her on with âHello Bi+chesâ and an UNFORGETTABLE APPEARANCE WITH 2NE1 (BOM, DARA, MINZY, JESUS, THE WORKS) at MAMAS 2015! Ladies, way to run 2015! Next year is yours for the taking! To end this wrap up, I am saving the best for last. Start great, end great. This group here became the unexpected yet inevitable heroes of K-POP 2015.
If you have not been up on K-POP this year, just remember the name BTS. I definitely do and will. In two comebacks just 7 months apart, a world tour, Two V app shows, many TV appearances, and a SoundCloud account, BTS have taken the K-POP world (nay, THE WHOLE GENERAL WORLD) by storm. Multiple awards came their way (finally!) When they released âThe Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 1â we saw a whole side of BTS that has been there, but MORE MATURE. These guys have shown the world that they are boys with fun and that they need us to stay dope. I was able to see the blood, sweat, and tears that they have shed over the last 2 years in one night in Dallas through the Red bullet tour part 2. That night pretty much solidified my following toward BTS. That was considered the most beautiful moment in life for me and from that moment on, I dubbed them the Kings of the underdogs in kpop. They proved that no matter how far down they were pushed at the beginning they found their way up to the top and they are going nowhere but up at this point.I love these guys so much and I wish them nothing but success and a whole lot of rest in 2016. Well thatâs all I have for 2015 in my nutshell . I may have missed out some stuff, but so much has happened this year, so can you blame me?
