Starter Call : Rido
{\ That’s right. Starter call for just Rido~ :D /}
Proposal scene, part 1
In regards to your love life, you’re just entering into a whole of pain if you talk about it. If you’ve never said anything, there are no sound bites to haunt you when you’re crying into a box of Kleenex after it all goes wrong.
Lily James as Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
HE LEFT A POT of flower outside the door of her room, delivered by one of his familiars. A plant he called 'moon blaze.' It sparkles in the sun during the day, and glows in the moon during the night. Having control over nature, he was able to make a new plant species; and this one was created just for her. The 34-petaled flower would bloom, glowing and sparkle for as long as he loves her.
An unsuspecting Juri nearly stumbled over the pot when she opened up the door to leave her chamber. She grabbed the door frame just in time before that actually happened! She looked down at it, picking it up and eyed it in confusion from angle to angle, also perking her head out into the hallway to look around in case there was anyone out there who’d accidentally misplaced it in front of her door.
To her surprise, she was all alone.
Thus that prompted her to scan the flower further. The petals were unlike anything she’d seen before. (they were glowing!) Something told her that that was Hideo’s doing. A present perhaps? Juri smiled and took a whiff of the petals.
“Hideo...”

She’d felt this type of spark only once when she was younger. But it was for the wrong guy at the wrong time. Back when he was still mentally sane and gentle. Rido. She was enamored with him when she was 17, but it all faded when he changed.
Since then, she’d been hesitant to give her heart away. Afraid that they would hurt her! Or take advantage of her. She was afraid to let love take control over her mind and decisions only to have it change her in the end.
He changed. She didn’t want the same fate.
But alas, she fell for the one who was at least a couple of thousands years older than her. Alone in an empty room at the Shirabuki’s castle, in the dim light cast by the full moon and stars outside, Juri and Hideo shared a moment that neither would have expected before.
Her arms were loosely draped around his neck, her face inching in closer as her eyelids lowered. She could already feel his warm breath hitting her lips, it teased her to part them and invite him all in.
“Um... Is it okay if I...?”
Her voice was meek and barely audible. He answered by moving in closer and Juri pressed herself against him in a soft kiss.

HIDEO WAS WELL-AWARE that she had an immense sweet tooth. In every occasion that involved food, anything sweet was a must-have for her. If she could, she would probably eat sweets her whole life. He wasn’t particularly fond of it, but because of her influence, it started to grow on him.
“You have to save some space on your stomach. If it becomes too full, you might miss trying the other selections,” he said, chuckling. Not that it was much of a problem for her; she had a humongous appetite for confectioneries.
Their arms linked. A platonic gesture. He gave importance to whatever it was that they had. He let her lead the way. Amidst their walk, a melodic tune could be heard, reverberating through the halls. The orchestra started to play in harmony. “Ah, look at them, they’re dancing.” His gaze went to the pairs swinging to the music in the dance floor. His lips curled into a smile, pleased by the sight and sound.
“Care to dance with me?” he asked rhetorically.
Such a rhetoric question could only be met by an exasperated sigh and a roll of her carmine eyes. But, despite her ARDUOUS desire to dance, she decided to take part in his little game and play along. She halted in her tracks, her strong grip on him halting him as well as she swung in front of him on her heels and positioned her hands accordingly on his shoulder and in his hand, respectively.
“I’d HATE that.” Venomous sarcasm dripped from her smirk as she alluringly batted her lashes at him. “Lead the way, if you don’t want to end up pirouetting towards the sweets table.”

HIDEO WAS NO FAN OF parties, but she was. Hence, it had started to grow on him. She never failed to make it interesting. She was basically a ball of sunshine, giving light in a dull room. A social butterfly. It was interesting to see people wearing gaudy attires, socializing.
He chuckled at her enthusiasm towards the confectioneries. Events like these were her type of thing. They’d always been polar opposites, however, it was convenient, considering that they’d balance each other.
“Slow down with the sweets. There are still more options to choose from.”
Juri pouted. That trademark purse of her lips and upset glare graced him as she hunched her shoulders and turned to him. He should know, that sweets were always a priority for the former princess.
“Hideo-sama, you need to get with the times! Of course, there are plenty options to choose from, but a well educated noble knows that sweets are they main course and attraction of the soiree. Come, now!”
A bold arm wrapped around his own arm, her delicate hand resting over his bicep as she lead him to the table. Despite the sudden closeness, there was still a tad of space between their bodies. Just enough to prove that their relationship was anything but romantic. Their friendship was valuable and at nearly 1000 years, Juri was still very much against settling down.

⌠ ღ ⌡ —— The little pureblood curiously tilted her head to the side at her mother’s request, but still made her way towards her father’s desk, making sure not to stumble on her tiny feet as she stretched her little hands over the wooden surface to retrieve the green pen her mother was asking for, a little reluctant in actually handing it over to her though. She wasn’t sure if this ‘blame’ was supposed to be something good or bad for her brother.
“Blame Onii–sama~?” The little pureblood questioned as she slowly made her way back, her little hand holding the pen hidden behind her back. “What does blame mean mommy? Does it mean that Onii–sama will get in trouble? Yuuki doesn’t want Kaname Onii–sama to get in trouble!”
The pureblood matriarch’s visage melted into a loving smile as she watched her little fledgling flee to her husband’s cabinet. She returned her attention on the paper she was previously scribbling on, re-reading over the poorly written sentences and feeling DISTRESSED for not being able to come up with better phrasing. Her pen ran out of ink after countless attempts at writing a letter to Kaien Cross, the president of the Vampire Hunter Association, regarding the project that would educate both vampire students and human students to co-exist in a close-knit environment.
Why was it so DIFFICULT to write a simple proposition to the hunter? Was she coming on to strong? Or too friendly? What WAS her relationship to Kaien, anyway? It baffled her. Juri heaved a sigh. Perhaps, using Haruka’s precious pen would inspire her to write better. Oh! Perfect timing. She heard Yuuki’s little footsteps behind her.
--- “Well... he won’t be in BIG trouble. And I assure you, we will make up to him with croissants and cookies. Besides, would you rather WE get in trouble instead, sweetie? You know he tends to hide objects when he’s upset. Kaname’s a big boy! He can handle it.”
Said as she turned back to face her. Juri outstretched her hand towards Yuuki and gently wiggled her fingers as she awaited to have the pen placed in her palm.
--- “Alright~! ♥ Give me the pen, Yuuki!”
It's cute isn't it...
