Hi yall! I think it is safe to say that my activity on Tu.mblr has been…none. I think I am more focusing on my insta account than being active here. And honestly, I lost my motivation to keep my page on here active. Heck I am not even lurking😭 Maybe it is time that I admit that my hiatus on here will continue. I will answer some dm’s now and be off until…idk when
The funniest shit is the fact I'm civilian in Neo Domino who thinks the whole metropolis is insane
there's whole ass lanes on highways for dueling
there's a school just for dueling (is there even normal schools??)
the in-universe police deal with any crime by dueling
huge tournaments like every season
prison centers torture prisoners via dueling
there's even illegal underground dueling rings
in conclusion: everything in Neo Domino revolves around dueling and I hate it
Also the funniest fact is that my husband is still dueling (underground) so he might've went from cowboy cop to illegal betting basically or very least in grey area, he can indulge in his impulses I suppose since he's half foot into my goody two shoes and the other in the criminal underworld
On occasion I think whole Team 5ds is batshit and that includes my husband
Summary: Wren ends up trapped with Yusei & Mikage, with threat of drowning
@yuiaka @blazingstarship
Nothing but metal beams above welcomed Wren.
They had no memory how they ended against dirt, metal and soil creating hopeless cage.
Their head pounded. Wren winced. Faint idea of footsteps behind them, while the small person was searching through the abandoned amusement park. Pounding compounded to headache and Wren let out pained whine.
Voices above. Hope! Slowly Wren tried to get up, but their head injury made the attempt futile.
Something was falling. Loud thud.
No, someone.
''Yusei!'' Wren let out their friend's name, in surprise. The man mentioned withered in the ground a few seconds, the impact caused all air to leave his lungs.
Their name uttered with same panic. Yusei's blue eyes drifted, Wren's own blue-grey followed.
Wren gasped. They had completely missed unconscious Mikage laying next to them in the dirt. Yusei crawled to her, shook her awake while calling her name.
Chilling laugh above, in the darkness. Sizzling metal, pouring water. Wren's mind failed.
It was too much, the feeling of the dirt against their fingers, the panic, the hopelessness, the feeling of cold water seeping through their clothes, as more water flowed in and it rose, the tight grip and leather of Yusei holding them and Mikage both. Too much, too much!
Mikage screaming for Jack, high pitched and grating. Wren grit their teeth. Anger was rising beyond the numbness. Sticky clothes, the cold, the darkness. Mikage screamed some more and Wren found themselves thinking their hands around her neck, anything to shut her up.
''You know I can't swim right?'' was all Wren themselves shrieked, as the water was flowing on their mouth and nose. Oh god, they were drowning.. Mikage kept yelling, Yusei tried to pull them upwards, weak, quick breaths before the water was up bridge of Wren's nose again.
Their thoughts turned to certain Security officer, tall and broad, crude but kind in his own. Wren would never see him again, they would drown here, even if help arrived. The water rose up to their eyes.
Water drowned all sound in their ears. Nothing but cacophony of liquid sloshing, eyes irritated as they still tried to keep their eyes open.
Wren found themselves no longer panicked, nor annoyed at Mikage. In their heart, they were yelling for someone particular, too. They were tired, tired of struggling, tired of heartbreak, tired from their meltdown.
Voices were muffled, metal strained, but Wren could only hear their beating heart that dared to slow. Push above the water, weak gasp for air.
Call of a name so dear and close. Water seeped back, last smidge of power used.
The metal above flung open, vision blurry, throat full of water.
Suddenly, water was gone, from their nose, their mouth. Loud cough fit, their body lifted. Was this it? Were angel waiting on other side?
That is what it felt to Wren, delirious from almost drowning, as Ushio's warm, big hands caught them. Legs wobbly, Wren sunk to the metal floor, shivers throughout their body. Their own heartbeat was all they could hear, cold all they could feel.
Yusei and Mikage were alright, their figures blurry. Wren watched as they left, cough rumbled to surface.
The angel returned. Bathed in holy light of orange and pink, warm brown eyes, concerned face. Eyebrows furrowed, figure crouched.
Something warm around them. Smell of coffee, sweat, something herbal and faint leather as Wren buried their nose in the fabric. It was too big, engulfing their whole being, but so warm and safe. Hazy, familiar dark cyan.
Did angels smell like this? Wren mused, had thought angels smelled like fresh spring rain, flowers and sunlight on skin, soft, not rough like the fabric and this one was.
Rough pats on their shoulder. The angel smiled, grinned the same familiar one with teeth, they were accustomed to, longed to see on the tall individual encompassing their mind.
Pounding on their head worsened. Body shivered. Every bone in their body was cold as corpse.
Wren struggled to get up. World and colors spun, legs cold and weak, from old and new pains. Warm arms held them, familiar face up above.
Delicate fingers traced lacerated scar on his cheek, feeling nothing.
''You're like him, so beautiful, my personal angel..'' muttered words were slurred, fingers trailing his lips, mouth hanging open. ''I shouted for you, in my heart.''
''I got you.'' The husky voice was the same too. Pain was overwhelming, but soon it would be better, Wren believed. Warm fingers laced with their cold.
Darkness.
Pain.
One eye cracked open.
Wren winced. Too white, too bright. Like a-
Eyes snapped open. White walls, white sheets, everything was white. Anxiety bubbled to surface. Dull pain, exhaustion. The small body winced.
Hand ruffled their hair. ''There you are!''
Ushio was sitting on the edge of the hospital bed, wrinkles beneath his eyes as he smiled softly. White button shirt and cyan trousers and he looked handsome as ever. Wren stared at him, having bounced to sitting on the bed now that their location had dawned on their mind.
Wren blinked lazily. Fingers gripped the sheets, hands bought the fabric up to their eyes. Embarrassment crept up, mere flashes of the incident.
The same smell of coffee, leather and herbals assaulted their nose. Eyes widened. Hands maneuvered to create makeshift hood out of uniform jacket, a hopeless dream of disappearing, covered with it.
Ushio peeked inside, Wren hurriedly turned away. With no idea how much and what they had babbled yesterday, they had no courage to face him.
Cough rumbled in their throat, a fit that lasted quite a while. Jacket fell into their lap, delicate fingers playing with the material.
''You shouldn't be up.''
Strong, warm hand gently pushed their body to the sheets. Will to fight it existed, but body did not respond.
''Are others-?''
''They're fine. You got the blunt of it.''
His eyebrows furrowed, arms crossed, muscles out to see, peeking through the elbows. Wren flushed. He was like this when in thought.
''Hypothermia, high fever and migraine. Almost drowned.''
Wren shifted, winced in pain. The pain and exhaustion certainly were a match to the diagnosis given. Another cough fit. Something cool on their head, a brush on their cheek.
Ushio shifted, his hand yanked away as soon Wren's hazy eyes reached him. They gave him sloppy, tired smile and his insides turned.
Weak hand reaching. Brown eyes questioning.
''Can you stay?''
He scooted closer, hand gripping smaller, wet rag slipped off from Wren forehead as their eyes closed. Fingers still holding his shirt like comfort blanket, up to their nose and cheek like they always slept.
Ushio's heart tightened. He remembered clearly what had been said and done. He had never felt such strong love from anyone, had never felt as wanted.
With simple, weak call of his own name, he had fallen in love again.
His hands fixed the rag, not before giving a soft peck on Wren's forehead.
I wanted to have an excuse to make an artwork to show affection and Sharon’s mark🙈 but it turned out to be a little own comfort piece, a little reminder.
Idk why but why can’t I stay daily active on here like I am on insta😭
I am currently working on two drawings for two collabs and I have started writing space.ship’s origin story🥰
Meanwhile in private I have been doing better than last year. Got new medication and have so much more energy! With work…yeah…that’s something I don’t wanna think much about it rn. I have summer break till the last week of August and I am taking the rest with both hands.
Who can recommend me/ have experience with artists who’s commissions are open and are yumeship/selfship friendly? Cause I am kinda…lost I think? I just don’t wanna feel self conscious to doubt myself…as in thinking they will think it’s weird etc.
