Hey there! This is a sideblog for posting aaaaall sorts of imagines, ask games, and positivity for the selfship / yume community. Feel free to stay for awhile, you're safe and welcome here~ At one point, this blog was known as sillyselfshipping, but I deactivated it. You can consider this blog a revival of sorts.

As for the admin of this blog, I go by Cloudy. I selfship too, but I'll keep all of my stuff off this blog; you can go here if you're particularly interested in seeing my own selfship stuff. But here? It's all about you and your f/o(s)!

Now, there are a few small rules that need to be adhered to:

Adults who ship with characters below 18 as of their latest appearance and/or incest "shippers" are not welcome here

No questioning / judging anyone else's experiences both in and outside the selfship community

Don't send my ask prompts to this blog, that's not what they're for! Send them to each other~

Don’t ask if you should ship with a particular character or not for x and y reasons, if its weird that you ship with a character, etc. I can’t determine that for you and I will not respond to it.

Yeah. Because adults shipping with minors is weird. It's the only actual condition this blog has, because IRL that shit is illegal and I would rather not perpetuate it in a fandom setting. And I even give some leeway by stating that the character has to be an adult at least by their last chronological appearance, since I know some age throughout their series. There is no other kind of selfship I am particularly against, even ones with darker content, because I am well aware that it is a very common coping mechanism that is recommended by mental health professionals to deal with trauma. Even if certain things aren't my personal cup of tea, pedophilic "ships" are the only thing I will not allow here.

And I must correct you, there is no "we" here. I am a singular person running this blog, and it is ultimately up to me to decide who is allowed to be here and who is not. The fact you say that tells me you don't know jack shit about this blog.

This is the only time I'm going to address this shit. If you try to respond, anon, you will be ignored. Go outside, touch some grass, and reflect on why you feel the need to act like a cowardly toddler who can't even show their blog for their attempt at "critique". I'm going to guess you have one of the ships I don't allow here, given your message, so you are not welcome here.

I think that my F/O are mostly platonic. I thought that some of them are romantic, but I realised that I have mostly friendship/platonic felling for them than actual sexual/romantic attraction. Is still okay to refer to myself as a self shipper even if I have all platonic/familiar relationships? (familiar means that you considered them part of your family)

Always! Selfshipping is for every kind of bond, and familial & platonics are just as important as the romantic ones! >w<

I'm relatively new to the yumeshipping community and blogs like yours really make me feel happy ^^ I think I'm the first person to self-ship with my f/o... There are some people that like him as a character or consider him their blorbo, but I've never seen anyone who outright self-ships with him.

I guess that's kinda cool though because it means he's all for me :D but again I really enjoy your blog and I look forward to more posts!

It's a fun time! I have a couple who are like that, where at most I see OCs shipped with them. Granted, I've already explained why that sort of thing doesn't bother me (linky) but ujyhtgrfe

Hopefully I'll get back to it soon!! I wasn't expecting the blog to blow up like this, so between that and IRL stuff punching me in the face it's been hard. But I'm glad you like the blog!!

is it possible for someone to get divorced from their F/O? How would that work?

I suppose that depends on the individual. Most tend to just say they've "retired" a f/o or just simply stopped shipping with them, but I suppose you could say that! I wouldn't know personally tho, given divorce implies marriage and none of my ships involve that (nor will they).

From my understanding, selfship and yume aren't really any different, but not all ocxcanon is a selfship! If anyone else wants to chime in though, feel free~

Shoutout to the selfshippers who don't feel seen by the community.

Maybe your f/o is from a series with a fandom that's gone dormant. Maybe you don't feel "heard" by the greater community no matter how you reach out. Perhaps you struggle to interact and connect with others. Or you don't create things of your ship like art or writing. Or maybe you have difficulty opening up. You may not even have f/o's in the romantic or queerplatonic sense, or prefer to focus on writing lore for your self insert.

Regardless of the reason, I see you. And your f/o(s) do too. ♥

hello i wanted to ask, i yume a character that is last seen in its epilogue as an adult but the fandom perceives as 17-18. I've been yumeing him since i was 14, forgot abt him, then returned last may. but I'm turning 18 soon. What are your thoughts? Honestly I've made a version of my f/o that's an adult and a bit different from the fandom one. I almost view it as two diff people.

18 is an adult so you're fine! And even if it wasn't, their latest chronological appearance sounds to be older than that, so at least in my eyes it's fine. You'll have to use your own judgement on it though; f/o's do come and go and it's not a bad thing if you decide not to ship with him anymore.

i saw that recent ask where you mentioned having unique views on the whole sharing-nonsharing thing and tbh i'm so curious how you view it (genuine) if you'd be comfortable talking abt it. i love hearing how other people experience stuff in this community, its almost never the same from person to person

Hmmmm... I was going to let it be at that, but I suppose I can! You asked nicely, so! ^_^

Before I get into it, let's take a look at the RP side of Tumblr. There, it is accepted by the community at large that each "muse" (the character you write) is unique to you regardless of having the same source. Myself and another writer can both write Character A, but our interpretations will still be different even if headcanons are similar. No two perspectives are the same; this is a universally accepted fact on that side of Tumblr. Some will even make it work in their favor so the two same muses can still interact, using AUs like identical twins or alt timelines. Even if two RPers of the same character don't write together for any reason, both still accept this to be true.

Since I have been mostly on that side of Tumblr and for far longer than here, I approach self shipping in much the same manner. I'm nonsharing in the fact that only I can perceive them the way I see my f/o's, thus no one can actually "take" them from me in the first place. Likewise, I'm sharing in the fact that I don't mind seeing others ship with my f/o's, as I don't own the source character and appreciate the fact that everyone else's interpretation can and will differ greatly from my own.

It'd be nice if people could adopt this view a little more, maybe some of the tensions between selfshippers can be eased over a little through looking at things this way, but I'm not so naive to think it'd work for everyone. People's views on "sharing" and why they may or may not is as vast as the various interpretations of these characters, after all. Many don't share due to mental health, trauma... all sorts of things, and it'd be foolish that only that notion can ease any anxiety they have.

So instead, I just try to do what makes my mutuals comfortable, even if that might make me a little sad. Even if they don't want to see or hear about my ship with a character they may have as a f/o too, I still know my f/o loves me and can also say I know theirs of that same character does too.
