Pulling away from her, Jake met her gaze again and arched an eyebrow. “Fair enough, I guess. It would probably be pretty insensitive to give the nerd a heart attack so close after he escaped death, right? Audrey stared blankly at the blonde, lost in her own thoughts, until the tiny girl raised her voice at her. “W-What?” she asked, blinking her eyes. After everything that happened merely a few months ago, shooting Piper and Emma’s mental breakdown, she found it difficult to move on and start caring again about ‘insignificant’ things such as best friend’s birthday party. “Of course I’m listening, Brooke.” she lied, furrowing her brow. “It just sounded like you got everything figured out already and I don’t have anything to add to it, is all.”

Oh, and I’m also more than willing to help you out if you need an audience to practice your routine for.”

Jake stretched himself out on the couch, letting out a yawn when Brooke started yelling at him. “No, not really? And as a matter of fact, neither should you, Brooke. He has his bicurious friend for that, right? Besides, the nerd will have another birthday next year. No reason to get so worked up over it." He chuckled, before patting the seat next to him. "Honestly, you seem awfully stressed out, babe. How about you come sit with me and let me take care of you, huh?”
