I see this a lot, no one has actual names, or any reference for names, that are legit Native American, varying among the tribes, for their characters.

Babynames.com and shit like that will give you names made up by white people.

However, I’ve got your solution.

Native-Languages is a good website to turn to for knowledge on a lot of native things, including native names. If you’re unsure about the names you’ve picked, they even have a list of made up names here!

Please don’t trust names like babynames.com for native names, they’re made up and often quite offensive to the cultures themselves.

it’s so weirdly common to be rude to people who need subtitles or want subtitles as if it’s some kind of nuisance to have subtitles, but honestly? normalize having subtitles on everything. overall it can help people with language barriers who can read better than they can listen to a language, it helps people with comprehension issues, it helps people who have trouble hearing, it helps in general so whatever you’re watching isn’t interrupted by someone asking what someone just said, just put subtitles on! what the hell!

I was out with a friend tonight doing one of my fave things. Reading the backs of romance novels aloud. Found this gem.

This is honestly the most wild sounding romance novel I have ever seen and thought it might brighten someone’s day.

anyway, right now i’m listening to:

welcome to night vale - self explanatory probably. i just got caught up after being literally two years behind. nice.

alice isn’t dead - i love this surrealistic road trip lesbian

the orbiting human circus - i don’t love this one bc sometimes i think it crosses that line from funny to mean, but it has its gems and im attached to all the characters at this point. it’s about a radio show on the eiffel tower and the janitor who just wants to be a part of it

within the wires - im not very far in this one, but it’s soooo relaxing while having like this sort of creeping horror to it. i love listening to it while im in bed and doing all the breathing exercises

the bridge - it took me a little while to get into this one just because im. super picky when it comes to narrators. BUT. the story is really cool, about these people who work for the watch towers along the transcontinental bridge, which crosses the atlantic ocean.

the bright sessions - i’ve only listened to the first episode, but it’s about a therapist who provides sessions for people with super powers

el gran apagon - this is in spanish and it hasn’t been updated in SO LONG which makes me so sad but it’s about a solar storm in the future that was so strong it left the world in complete darkness
