"Can I sleep here tonight? With you?" And maybe where buck's nightmares haven't really gone away and the only time he really gets any rest is when he's taking a nap next to Eddie because his presence soothes Buck's mind.
2. āCan I sleep here tonight? With you?āĀ
Buck wakes up crying. Itās not a new occurrence for him. Itās been happening ever since his accident and it just got intensified after the tsunami. Now, instead of being pinned under the truck, heās pinned under the truck and drowning at the same time. To top it all off, he watches Christopher slip from his grasp and float out into nothingness.Ā
He forces himself to sit up and wipes at his eyes. He reaches over and grabs the glass of water off the bedside table. He chugs it down and then turns to look at the time.Ā

He sighs, there is no way heās going to be able to go back to sleep. He pulls himself out of bed and decides to go for a run. Once he gets back heās feeling better but not that much. He hops in the shower and the hot water almost has him falling asleep standing up.Ā
He gets himself to work around six in the morning and apparently heās not the only one who didnāt get a good nightās sleep. Everyone looks dead on their feet.Ā
āHey guys, whatās going on?ā He asks.
Hen groans from where she has her head down on the table, āDennyās sick, kept us up the whole night.āĀ
āSame. Christopher caught a bug from school and he was throwing up all night.ā Eddie says as he walks towards them balancing three mugs of coffee in his hand. He puts one down in front of Hen and gives the other one to Buck.Ā
āThanks. You couldāve called me. I wouldāve came over.ā Buck says accepting the coffee mug.Ā
āDidnāt want to bother you.ā
Buck shrugs, āDidnāt get much sleep either.āĀ
Eddie looks at him in concern, āNightmares?āĀ
Buck nods, looking down at the mug in his hand.Ā
Bobby comes up the stairs followed by Chim.Ā
āWow, whatās up with you guys? Youāre looking like zombies.ā Chimney says.Ā
Hen doesnāt even bother looking at him.Ā

After the first call, luckily only a minor accident, they come back and collapse on the couch. Eddie rests his head on Henās shoulder who in turn rests her head on top of Eddieās. Buck comes and collapses over their laps.
āOkay, you need to go sleep.ā Bobby says. āYou canāt work like this. You are dead on your feet. I donāt want you getting hurt on the job.āĀ
āWeāll be fine, Bobby.ā Buck says.
āNo. Go to the cots and sleep. Thatās an order. You need to be rested before the next call.āĀ
Hen doesnāt argue and shoves Buckās legs off her as she gets up. Buck nearly flails himself on the floor but Eddie pulls him back up onto the couch.Ā
āCāmon you too, boys.ā Bobby says.Ā
Buck sighs and gets up dreading to sleep because he knows if he does heās going to have another nightmare.
āOh, also two of the rooms are occupied and the third one has a leak in the roof so itās getting fixed, so youāll have to share a cot if Hen is already on one.ā Bobby says hiding his smirk.Ā
Eddie and Buck share a look.
āOh, cāmon, youāre both adults.ā Bobby says, āNow, go rest up.āĀ
